I was shocked to know that Kolkata has higher gdp than Bangalore. Honestly, I want it to remain as it is because Kolkata represents the entire east India.

Did Rajdeep just say " Spector " instead of " Scepter of Didi" at 3:33... feels good that an Oxford alumni can also make mistakes. Otherwise the Stephanian and Tharoorian standards of english can give anyone a complex. Lol !

Don't invest in WASTE BENGAL. If you get customers outside India, KPO, BPO, where the exit barriers are very very low go for investment in WB.I get cheap intelligent young Bengali Brains at US$500-600 per month ready to work ten hours a day if it is WFH, and they will deliver. for manufacturing, it is a big NO/NOPE.It is becoming BAD TO WORSE.

Dude I stays there..go to VIP road and near chinar park area and baguigati and you will see for yourself..dance bars (not the mumbai type but they call it performance bars) are mushrooming in the city like anything.

Im not against kolkata or dance bars mate..it is up to the conscious and freedom of each individual where he wants to spend his money. Im just worried about the broader picture of the state of economy in west bengal. I love west bengal..some of the best memories in my life are from kolkata and for that reason I want it to be at the very top. The farm lands in west bengal are one of the best in india then why the agricultural growth is not phenomenal..talking about manpower, they are one of the brightest and smartest lot , then why no companies or industries..For example I can count the number of IT companies in bengal in my fingers..Kolkata could have become the gateway to south east asean countries..a trade hub and bright spot like singapore.. It has everything to be star state but not the right leadership. Do you know what is the difference between a good company and a great company..its the management ..the leaders and visionaries. bengal is missing that for decades now. Bengalis outside are all successful and are in very powerful and prominent positions but it needs 2-3 decades of development politics to rise up from ashes. The major source of income for the state government is through land revenues which is again declining..the state is in rumbles with huge debt and they always go to centre with a begging bowl for a package. this is not going to work in long run.. you have to generate income on your own..begging bowl or blackmail politics wont work..everybody wants bengal to succeed but this aint happening under this current regime. the economy numbers of the state are all fudged up and cooked up data..bengal is lucky to have a heritage, a legacy but no leader to take that forward..there need to be balance (between dance bars, lottery stalls, syndicates, club houses and Sezs, industries..) else there will be chaos and cacophony

my dear friend..you could attribute the GDP contribution to the hooghly belt which is one of the most fertile landmass in India and the intellectual human resource. It is easy to blame center for everything but what policies the state has brought in to attract investment and industries. Security, transparency and infrastructure is needed to attract investment , but none of it exists in there at the moment. I stays in bengal not because the state of economy is very good . I stay here because I love bengal but I cant keep my eyes closed. I will be the first one to criticize if something wrong is happening. The state of law and order has greatly deterioated courtesy the TMC goons and daily influx of illegal bangladeshis to west bengal. Dont compare pakistan/bangladesh 9preindependence) to india federal structure. India has a world class judiciary, if mamata thinks centre is not doing justice , she can go to court and take center to task. Please for godsake dont compare India with pakistan. For all the other problems that you mentioned about maoist and adivasis being exploited. for everything the responsibility lies with every stakeholder- center, state, bureaucrats, As a unit they were not able to bring the policies to ground level. The adivasis and backwards were not made aware of the welfare state. Even if you are made free an given a separate country doesnt guarantee you will become the next Singapore. Singapore is singapore because of Lee Kwan Yew who single handedly lifted singapore from a third world country to one of the developed nation with almost zero resources at hand. Its called swift policy making . If you come to power just to stay in power and make money you will take the state to doomsday. Politics is not a thing to show off. Its the path of public service and very lively thing. You can see it transforming lives if you implement correct policy. Unfortunately bengal is suffering a great leadership crisis at this moment.

Dude you are far away from reality. The bengali manus always stays in the state of denial and hence the present situation of the state. I believe you only read anand bazar and hence your knowledge is very limited. Please visit vip road and baguigati after 8:00 or google dance bars in kolkata and you will see it for yourself. In a place where I used to stay in chinar park, there was this dancer used to stay in the society. Im not against it but its mushrooming growth is alarming.

If anyone responsible for bengal decline then it is its people and nobody else. The communist rule the state for 30 years and the bengali intellectual despite knowing the fact the communism is a failed concept keep on voting the same people again and again. The work culture destroyed, industries shut down due to impractical union demands , law and order deteriorated due to communist mafias. All sane and good minded bengalis fled to other parts of india and abroad. bengal was just thriving on the agricultural output and any natural resources. Classic example is the failure of haldia petrochemical plant . Democracy is a self correcting system but provided all stakeholder play their part well which include the ruling party, opposition and people. There was never a credible opposition to the ruling party in bengal and the people were hopeless. The media was always controlled and spreading false propaganda of development but in reality there was none. This is a classic case study for how a state which is so rich culturally falls. You talk about Gurgaon, my friend I have been to Gurgaon and people there says that its not the government but the people themselves who have built Gurgaon. The private companies in Gurgaon are responsible for its success especially DLF which has major stake in the MRT , roads and SEZs. The federal structure is the best model for any country wherein there will be check and balances especially for country like india wherein people always think of petty selfish gain before thinking about the country. People like you has this alienation mindset which is a slow poison for any state. Look at Kashmir , its the most privilleged state ,they gets subsidy, they have their own constitution ,own flag but what they did to the 6 lakhs kashmiri pandits. This will happen to bengal. Mark my word that if TMC continues the way it is doing to appease a specific community and allowing illegal immigrants and rohingyas , this will become a mini bangladesh (the developed bangaldesh that you want to stay). The day demography flipped in bengal, you will see the changes. You can bring change through a visionary leadership and good policy making not by alienation because ultimately the people who will rule bengal will the very same people. there will be only narada, sarada, syndicate, lottery and dance bars. Perhaps you are not staying in bengal and hence you dont know the situation. My friend dont just read amrut bazar patrika, read other newspaper as well or follow local bengali news and you will know the situation of the state. Dont just give speeches from your drawing room. who is stopping mamata to invite companies and industries?? When you have time go to the Unitech Sez , you will see how many blocks are lying empty there. People like you just live in fools paradise without knowing the ground reality. People like you have this typical kanhaiya mindset of break india. But you should remember that this is not going to happen. Indian army is too powerful to crush any such campaigns before it even take off. If you like bangladesh so much please go and apply for a citizenship there. who is stopping you??
