"Saviles - that's our new name for them." Gave me a chuckle, thanks. I've always quite liked the Saggies and my recently acquired respect for Wolves is all about their board standing alone in opposition to some FA directive. I don't recall for certain what it was but it was something fundamental about which I have strong feelings. Possibly regulation of pitch size? I mean I do admire Wolves for their gargantuan pitch but it might have been something more fundamental than that.

Storm in a teacup. Compared to what I saw in the 1970s and 1980s following Wolves, that was absolutely nothing - pathetic. West Brom fans just couldn't handle being outclassed on their own pitch by Wolves. It hadn't happened for a very long time. There were two or three Wolves fans (not hooligans) in the family enclosure and they were stupid to give themselves away. That does not excuse Jimmy Savile steaming across seats, assaulting one of ours and then tramping his way across the pitch to goad our lot. Wolves fans just laughed at him. Then those to the right of the away end tried to get the match abandoned, assaulting police and trying to get at the Wolves fans. Our lot just laughed - and still do.
