Action from the Clonakilty Park Hotel West Cork Rally 2024. Round 2 of the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship and Rounds 1 & 2 of the Acesigns Southern 4 Rally Championship.
This year saw the welcome addition of a 3-day event which included 2 night stages. Fantastic weather Friday, however a very wet and foggy day on Saturday making conditions treacherous for the crews. Sunday had better conditions with crews gaining more confidence on the dry tarmac, however was wet in patches.
Keith Cronin/Mikie Galvin took the win in their Ford Fiesta Rally2. The Ford Fiesta Rally2 securing a 1-2-3 finish. Kevin Eves/Chris Melly took victory in the modified section in the Toyota Corolla Twincam. In the Historics, was won by Tomas Davies/Eurig Davies in the Ford Escort MK2 RS1800. Juniors was won by Kyle Browne/Mark O’Leary in the Honda Civic.
Well done to Cork Motor Club in the successful running of the event. A massive thanks to all the marshals and volunteers who helped out and especially braved the elements on Saturday. Without these folks we have no rallies!
