Giving new names to landscapes and animals is a way of reinforcing racist beliefs that Africans have no knowledge and they do not know how to manage their landscapes. From my little knowledge, the KDF Red Beret team is called the Special Forces, an elite squad which was equally responsible for taking over Kismayu. The 2013 Westgate confusion between the Recce Company and Special Forces made President Uhuru to visit the Ruiru camp and condoled with the Recce officers. From the sad events, we now have a Special unit moving forward known as the SWAT Team, that will be responsible for such counter attacks. I however must say, even though the Special Forces from KDF are equally lethal, the example of Westgate was a Recce assignment as it is drawn from the GSU with the mandate internal matters.
