He got me by 5 yrs , back then was the bully era, you had to have guns because jus going to the store you can get into life changing beef and you ain’t even do shiit but you can’t let nobody violate cus you a dub after that
I’ve definitely seen some fire power in NY back in the days, LES, Vanderveer, 90’s and Rutland, Newkirk, Amboy especially. Brooklyn ( Flatbush ) play with guns though. They definitely get it popping but also shoot in the air all night, shoot niccas over loosing basketball games or clothes, and other stupid sht. When those guns came out in Manhattan ( LES Ave D) for the most part, it was a wrap. I can barely name five brothers around my way that got shot and lived going back to the 90s. Oh yeah, before I forget, when my pops lived on Gates back around 90, Yousers!!!!! That sht was super uncivilized. Brothers were banging out daily. Scary sht!! The whole city was nuts, but those are some of my personal experiences!!
@@Fightthepower718 you sound like pussy stfu people like u always complaining about something it's in the past and u act like you Americans ain't patriot and nothing wrong with that either just stop moaning when others do it or act like they fled or don't like their homeland !! The West Indians aka The Private House Posse were situated between two projects. We had to go hard. Salute to the first generation of “Da Floss” 86’-92’
Side block cats were always real tho... I went from the projects to complex to private house ...I hated that private house life lol... back to the projects to outta town private house.
This is facts I'm from Bayview and it was wild late 90s but definitely started in the 80s. I went to 211 and was cool with most of the private houses. But it definitely was crazy from fights, etc.
@@LadellTurner same here I moved out of Bayview in 2019. And I remember 99.9% of the kids got along with each other it was that few percentage that fought for no fucking reason over the dumbest shit. Now we all grown and they still doing this dumb shit before we was fighting now they shooting each other
Eastern Parkway had an American vs. West Indian beef. I remember sum'n bout a American kid who was pumpin for the Jamaicans and he got left in a park if I recall.
Reminds me of the Bronx back in 95 Truman high. Jamaicans was beefing with the Valley boys in Co-op city. Wild thing about was a lot of those Valley boys were actually Jamaican too but had grown up in Nyc since the 80’s so were very Americanized by that point or were the 1st generation children of Jamaicans.
I'm 37... I remeber the end of this wild era in the early to mid 90s...used to remeber hearing gunshots damn near every night. And my neighborhood wasn't even that wild. The projects I lived across from were prolly the nicest public housing in all of NYC (Pomonok)
Indian American here. I used to take the train and bus to go from the Bronx to Brooklyn Tech. This was 1993-1997. It was a zoo back then. I had a gun on me all the time since I started going to that High School! The journey getting there and back home was the roughest part. Facts!
@@Powerule23 West Indies & West Indies Americans, including Latin Americans always had beef with African Americans crew's. I never understood why. Maybe the pride and violence damage us. Yea, Islands and Latin America do beef, then again they sometimes put that aside. Unfortunately, Americans gangs don't really get that respect from us. I don't know why. It's ridiculous to me.
@@mikee6571 Its all ignorance we are brothers n sistas fighting is going to keep wasting time when black folks should do what they need to have been done generations ago
Word certain parts like East New York and Brownsville definitely had a mix of Americans and Caribbeans. However other areas like Flatbush and Canarsie were Caribbean dominated and BedStuy and Fort Greene were American black dominated
Not glorifying the street life. But as a 24 year old. It woulda been nice to do my dirt pre social media. That bus situation woulda been viral and he woulda been booked. Shit when they chased him that situation woulda went viral and who knows how he woulda responded.. our generation margin for error so much smaller
When Rikers Island permanently closes 2o25, GenPop is going to be a Monumental clothing line. I hope you get rich Laz 💸 (Consider designing a Limited edition hoody 👕 displaying the Riker island bus 🚌 ) ...Just saying 👨💻🍿
Why can’t our kids speak proper English now in canarsie and not hate each other and stop using the n word lived here in the 70s and 80s no one spoke and acted like the people here do now
The white kids who went to Canarsie in the 70s didn’t have to endure the devastating crack era, drug addicted parents, extremely poor living conditions, truck loads of illegal guns, filthy cops and unfit living conditions like the “kids of nowadays” you speak of
Salute my bro LAZ' fam I know all to well about 'Hammer Fever' as a young cat, very serious back then esp in DC' we held the Murder Capital Title' a few years in the late 80's early 90's praise GOD' for allowing me to see 52yrs'!

That's right keep talking them facts.write a book about yourself. You and Laz gonna be selling James Patterson book type of shit.we got alot of brooklyn Legends.shit will say like crazy. I used to be doing my thing selling near that flower stand
Dudes were children with a bunch if grown men chasing them, kids are kids, I don't think the street rules apply to that one, then they ended up telling on the kid 😳
It's NYC they just want the sirens then they run off. When they say call the police ain't no one getting told on or they going catch anyone. It's just for the escape if those Jamaican on chill time. But if not they get shot infront of the police. But the kids knw the dreads would peel off as soon as they hear them sirens.
Shit I remember the b50 Starrit city had beef with everyone Canarsie Brookline Fairfield Linden shit it was on and Poppin and that’s the same time Starrit crusted Brookline hard and went to war with vip the Deceptacon’s remember all of them shit was real in a the field
@@StLaz there was one time I recall on Halloween’89 VIP set it on decepts (glenwood pjs faction)by south shore and security had no choice but to let them ROCK
Reason why Canarsie HS was so wild back then you had too many people coming from everywhere Brownsville,ENY,Flatbush,East Flatbush,Crown Heights,Bayview,Breukelen.Every gang was there too and some formed they own gangs in there too. That neighborhood at the time was Italian mostly and they was fighting too. There was a side in the school that was called the darkside and that was where the special Ed classes was and the part of the school where a lot of shit happened because it was kind of out of view, mad people never even seen it because they were too scared to go there because of the stories. R.I.P. too all those who died too young or who ain’t never coming home! Those where the best days of my life!!!
