Gov employees interrogating a member of the public over public photography in a public building and asking for details repeatedly. Unbelievable. They think they have police powers.
Me thinks the lad that came out and then came back with the other fella , fancies the receptionist and thought he would be her knight in shining armour . Turns out he just made himself look like a twat .
Wow that got ugly in the end. Threats of violence by gov employees. For filming in public. Actually, threats of violence in itself is an assault, and would be a crime. Making someone in fear for their safety with threats of violence is a crime.
@@Return_oftheMac a gov volunteer then. Its all the same. You are representing the gov in your official capacity. You cant threaten the public under the color of law.
It's the same council that lost in court against Clarkson after making illegal decisions towards his property. It's not 'since Jeremy Clarkson'. It's since the council decided to be above the law and abuse citizens rights, after getting exposed for being corrupted and unlawful body - people gave you feedback. So getting passive-aggressive response seems expected. Stonewalling citizens from joining public meetings because they want to film. If this wasn't recorded, we would never know the same Council is now acting in an aggressive manner towards further citizen inquiries.
Actually remembering the series they were weird about Jeremy Clarkson filming proceedings. They probably got round it because he was filming for commercial purposes. I’m sure they couldn’t stop the news outlets coming in to report the craziness and they did. If you’re a citizen as you said they should know just let you in. Their decision making is not the most bold is it though.
you have it right. The staff off camera reiterating committe member exercising their right not be on film does mean they forego there right to remain annonymous. Namely that committee member working on the public, citizen behalf do not have that right to privacy like AB has said, the public pay them to do their job . So far the lady Rebecca, the 2nd gentleman outside office has down pretty good customer service. Let's see how the rest of the interaction.
No one you could possibly describe as agressive in this video was actually a council employee. Rude work experience guy, bolshy external planning inspector, rude old guy who also was clearly not a council employee.
Someone feeling uncomfortable is on them, they’re in control of their own emotions, no one else, yet they blame another individual. It’s pathetic victim entitlement.
So if a man staring at a woman continuously for half an hour and touching himself makes her uncomfortable,is that on her to just brush it off?that's an example I'm not saying he is in this video but your comment is generalising
@@Imnottheboroughif that was the case then the police would get involved and the man arrested, that’s a completely different scenario, in this case it’s just a man with a camera legally filming in a public place and a public employee behaving like a precious princess. If public workers don’t like cameras they should work in the back at McDonald’s.
I want it give credit to the second guy, I think his name is Jack. Seemed very polite and more switched on than the others. But let’s not kid ourselves, the old guy who was overseeing the meeting needs to be sacked and has mental issues it seems. Also the guy who made threats should be dealt with. Great work exposing these absolute idiots.
Jack was very good to be fair. I think the receptionists white knight (looking for shag ?) dragged him into to it. Jack very quickly made a fair assessment and was civil and helpful from there on. I do think it was funny how loud Rebecca was speaking in the hallway, right beside the "Keep Quiet" sign. Its probably because if you speak loudly you can fool most people into believing that you know what you are talking about. Not quite sure Rebecca......
None of the really rude people in this video were council officials. Planning Inspector (effectively works for central government, not the Council) and drag outside guy i seither the applicant, or an objector to the development that this appeal related to.
@@nigelfarage69 google what an 'Informal Hearing' in 'Planning' is, and who conducts it (the rude guy who says he is adjourning the meeting is that person). The young guy is described as a trainee, I assumed work experience, but may be wrong. Drag outside guy is not an officer or a councillor. Why am I not surprised someone with your username, who doesn't actually know the answers himself, accuses other people, who do know what they are talking about, as talking 'bullshit'. Moron.
These council offices belong to the people, they extort council tax for services that are usually sub standard..Its a scam and they dont want anyone filming their lizard asses.
Was she uncomfortable about being filmed per se or being filmed by, to her, a "creepy" man? Is there an equivalence between being filmed by CCTV or being filmed by a private individual? Why could a person feel differently about each situation?
They don't work for Auditing Britain, a Private business. AB vacates his position as member of the public by being there Representing AB. Don't worry I'm fed up of him harassing people for his own Private purposes also
@MFletch87 what do you mean? Private or not still paying taxes! 😂😂😂 but we know you you're that type of person who was bullying in school and after complaining to teachers 😅😅
@gmariusvictormarius8396 come bully me then, let me know when your in South Wales. I'll come to you. Can you even speak English? You asked what I mean and then carried on spewing garbage. Audit is a commercial activity. To consider yourself a member of Public whilst at work is idiotic. You don't have the brain power to comprehend, I get that.
@@natalievu4399 I did the same after I posted about that. Most people don't use cinnamon though. Have you ever tried it with toasted cardamom seeds? Greetings from the UK.
No one you could possibly describe as 'rude' in this video was actually a council employee. Rude work experience guy, bolshy external planning inspector, rude old guy who also was clearly not a council employee.
The same here in Australia. Government employees have their own spectrum. I wouldn't put autistic people down by saying government employees are are on autistic spectrum, the federal employee spectrum is way different.
How cocky and unprofessional ‘Jack-the-Lad’ is. Gobby, juvenile behaviour, “it’s a bit dodge”. The little boy needs at least retraining, but more appropriately sacking. 🙄
Can you imagine the perks and benefits this lot get through their years here?! ? What a lot of misfits! Councils were developed to SUPPORT their community!!
"people are waiting to go for their lunch " that about sums up that arrogant council employee., the way he treats the taxpayer, disgraceful. Now he’s a dog’s breakfast all over you tube 😅
Ok that's weird...I literally just commented on your DJ Audits video...then I came here...what are the odds on that ?? Especially since I also agree about the Committee chap...so arrogant...I mean AB only asked one question..."Is it a Public meeting ?" I think I would have been tempted to say.. I'm leaving so GO F@CK Yourself 😳
There could be if we collectively decided to stop standing for it. If we challenged them every time they were rude or disrespectful, and then made a formal complaint, and did that in the tens of thousands, change would have to come if by necessity only.
Wow, that employee who you were asking to record was so bloody rude. Does he not understand that laws detail what you can't do, not what you can do. Absolutely unbelievable!
Listen to the trembling rage in that public employee's voice at being challenged on his deluded belief that everything is prohibited unless permitted. With respect, I think the camera should have come out again at the very first "No."
I've watched these people. They are exactly the same as pharmacists, GP receptionists and similar public service employees. That is, they have an illusory bit of power, which makes them feel that they are the dominant party in any interaction with the public, and they know they can resort to the "You're being aggressive! lie any time someone annoys them. If you can remain calm around these people and stand your ground, it is absolutely amazing how quickly they collapse.
It’s unbelievable that he can hold the position he does when he thinks we have laws that permit activities rather than prohibit them. AB tried to explain this basic concept but he just wouldn’t listen and instead had a hissy fit.
Well said. That old fart is not used to being questioned or challenged. "You can't breath the air until you show me the law that allows it". What a numpty. Lets get their rating down to where it belongs, a big fat ZERO.
perhaps get a motivational, positive poster close to her workspace that should brighten up her day. Hopefully bring a smile to the visitors to Witney councils offices🤞🏼
1.1 stars fully deserved. And not just cos of Clarkson. BTW, that was a clever move by AB to make the audio recording. So that we could hear what a horrible little Hitler the guy chairing the planning appeal was.
during meetings that are open to the public under the Openness of Local Government Bodies Regulations 2014 you can: film. audio record. take photographs. planning appeal meetings are public so you can attend, but you need permission to make any form of comment at the appeal hearing. The chairman of the meeting certainly does have anger issues when he is challenged, and you can see just why the council there has a rating of 1 on customer satisfaction, appalling attitude. typical council and committee member.
Excellent comment. I believe he may have been thinking of the council’s own policy on live streaming meetings online, as councils usually try to avoid capturing members of the public, but that has nothing to do with individuals filming council meetings. I think people like him find it hard to comprehend that some rules only apply to the council, not the public (I put it down to the mindset that they believe they’re superior). The fact he wanted AB to inform him of a law that permits something, rather than prohibits it, suggests he has very little understanding of the way the way laws work, which is concerning considering his role at the council.
Good comment. Notice the way he was passing the book, saying it was not him but his superiors who have imposed these rules. He sure had a short fuse, mind you, he was probably very hungry after a long morning being condescending to mere plebs like you AB.
@@nocommentuk as with most if not all councils its a case of do what i say not as i do. they dont comprehend the law due to the fact that they actualy believe that the law does not apply to themselves unless you can show proof that it does as opposed to the truth being the other way around.and when you actualy do they have no problems at all wasting tax payers money to try and defeat any protestations that dont suit their own ends.
3:55 I doubt the receptionist felt uncomfortable. But the guy thought he could act as a white knight to her. He doesn't think she can cope without his help.
There are quite a lot of self important councillors like him, they keep putting in to be mayor because wearing a chain makes them feel special. They are of course very much a legend in their own lunchtime.
@@-D0uble0- I'm just not a fan of people spouting off ignorantly about things they know nothing about. Guy was not a councillor. Every Council publishes a list of their councillors and their photos online. It's not hard to find. Have a look and then come back and tell me if I am right. I'll wait..... ( or do you just not like it when people introduce facts that are inconvenient to or get in the way of other's ignorant hatred?)
How are they supposed to promote homosexuality then? Maybe they should display a heterosexual flag. In other words, it is absolutely effed up to promote sex. Frankly, I don't care too much about what adults do, just don't force it on anyone.
@@truthandreality4650 Nobody's promoting anything about sex. That flag is about equal rights and freedom from persecution. There are many places in the world where being gay is still illegal and carries a heavy custodial sentence - in many places 10+ years. In some countries you can even be sentenced to death for being gay (or even suspected of it). It's only been legal in England since 1967 (1980 in Scotland, 1982 in Ireland). So, for ONE month out of twelve, a few places fly a flag and organise a march to celebrate the freedoms gained and hopes for more. No one is trying to promote sexual activities - except all the STRAIGHT adverts, TV shows, and culture, because STRAIGHT SEX IS EVERYWHERE! And being gay isn't just about sex. It's EXACTLY the same as being straight. It's about the WHOLE relationship. No one is trying to make you or your children gay. It doesn't work that way! Did someone MAKE you straight, or is that just how you are? Well, it's the same for gays. How would you like it if you were oppressed, scorned, ridiculed, and legislated against - maybe even facing a death sentence - merely for being WHO YOU ARE? Well, that's why we have PRIDE. That flag will be gone at the end of the month, so you can stop worrying. And btw, there's no need for a "heterosexual flag" since no one, ever, in the whole of human history, has ever been CRIMINALISED for being straight.
@@kitsworld Homosexual sex is what that flag represents. Your attempts at confusing the situation and painting it with false-empathy and pseudo-logic does not work with me.
Big up AB ,but the goat of council building audits is Josh at accountability for all in the U.S , A masterclass on policy and protocol that is applicable here in the UK too .
Nullum crimen sine lege - No crime without law. If a cop says you are not allowed to do something, it's his burden to provide the law that prevents it. Everything that is not prevented by law is by default allowed, so you don't have to provide a law that allows it.
They didn’t have a clue whether it was open on not. If it’s being live streamed I’m guessing anyone could enter. But they didn’t have any logical thinking did they. AB was on his way and they caused all this nonsense.
AB is, of course, 100% correct. Laws do not grant actions. Laws prohibit actions. There is no law that allows people to drink coffee... that's an excellent example. Great work, AB. Keep standing up for our rights. 👍
The berk in a merc the people who vote these councillors in should vote them out. They are not doing your council any favours. But are all councillors overpaid as well as all civil servants
19:19 The employee quickly grabs her ID to cover it up, as she sees your camera!! So much for being transparent! They hand out ID cards, then cover them up!! What a waste of money!
You hit the nail on the head, AB, we are all classed as little people by these 'Officials'. How he was speaking to you, off camera, you were just sh1t on his shoe.
This is possibly the most revealing video highlighting everything that is wrong with our public services all around the country. There's an extremely arrogant and contemptuous attitude that has been mistakenly adopted by people that are paid to administer and serve. I live in the city of Derby and our council services go far beyond arrogance and contempt, they are truly hostile and to that end, employ far too many out-sourced security staff, whom regularly bully and intimidate individuals who dare to express concerns or complain about the lack of public services, transparency and accountability. AB, this is a great job and I thank you ... as should every other citizen.
None of the really rude people in this video work for the council. The young guy is either a 'trainee' or a work experience person. The aggressive and shouting people are definitively not council employees.
@Return_oftheMac for a start what does it matter if your a "trainee" or on "work experience" you are representing that company/organisation aren't you? I also wouldn't really consider the way the appeal inspector spoke to AB as reasonable, he was unnecessarily rude aswell. Do you not understand these are people your tax pays for (if you pay any)and are there to run the council for the people, not speak to people like that for absolutely no good reason 🤷
@@pigs6667 Who said I think the Inspector was reasonable? he was both rude and wrong. Please google what a 'Planning Inspector' is before continuing to tell me again that he works for the council (he does not).
@Return_oftheMac 😂😂 thanks but I don't need to Google anything 👍🏻 so planning inspectors are privately funded are they? I don't think so. They might not be directly employed in this case by West Oxfordshire Council but its all paid for by the government which in turn is paid for by a taxpayer, so I don't get your point really I don't think you really have one to be honest.
😂😮😂...This pompous Guy, too used to talking down to people, does not like a Challenge! Poor customer service, extremely Rude, needs to update himself on Non Laws.. Now Guy threatening verbally!!!
In the UK, the public generally has the right to film and record public district council meetings. This right was solidified by the Openness of Local Government Bodies Regulations 2014, which allows members of the public, including the media, to film, photograph, or make audio recordings of meetings that are open to the public.
Note Section 3 which includes specially social media. And also the list of other bodies included in the regulations eg Transport for London, Fire and Rescue services Etc.
He just gets his phone out pretending to film AB (probably isn't even on) in an attempt to intimidate him. Once he realises that he doesn't give a fuck then he puts the phone away. I've encountered the exact same situation many times over. People have this weird belief that you're scared of a camera. I've got no idea why. It doesn't fire bullets.
Procedural Guide: Planning appeals - England Updated 28 May 2024 Section 10.14 Openness and Transparency 10.14.1. Hearings are open to journalists and the wider public, as well as interested people. As long as it does not disrupt proceedings, anyone will be allowed to report, record and film proceedings including the use of digital and social media. Inspectors will tell people present at the start of the event that the proceedings may be recorded and/or filmed, and that anyone using social media during or after the end of the proceedings should do so responsibly. So the inspector isn't familiar with the guidance, it doesn't say rhey have to be informed about it at the start, just that it can be recorded. The inspector should not be doing that job if he isn't up to date with the guidance. Also good ro know for duture reference.
Quiet please "( PUBLIC )" INQUIRY IN PROGRESS..... Typical council operatives, has badge thinks they have powers, and that committee guy needs a chill pil
The people who don't like being filmed in public need to learn how to stop complaining or crying about it and learn how to smile at the camera when they are being filmed... 😅
How Rude was that guy on audio , very aggressive, no interpersonal skills at all, Disgusting and Disgraceful, god help us with that council. Ex veteran
Wow. This is properly pushing boundaries and any public hearing should be up for the public to go in and record. Good for transparency. Fantastic stuff. Good feather ruffling, for a good reason.
Jeramy Clarkson is Genuine, also an honest guy. and has the balls to stand up to nonsense from Oxford Council bureaucrats. Well done Jeramy. His Personality shouldn’t effect his planning application however tempted by sarcasm he is. We all have weakness’s.
7:15 they are concerned about someone doing something lawful (filming) and a car alarm goes off in the background and they don't care about a car thief breaking into a car
Judging by the flag display outside (still including the blue and yellow one even now!) It would seem like they are conforming to their guidelines from their WEF masters to the letter. I wonder if they have a copy of The Communist Manifesto behind reception too? 😂
When a building flies flags that celebrate moral filth (rainbow colours) and political corruption (blue and yellow), you know you've stumbled on a den of iniquity.
Currently, there is a situation in Stafford, Staffordshire, where there is an appeal for the council to fly the LGBT rainbow flag. The council has refused to do so. As a result, the LGBT community has expressed their dissatisfaction with this decision 😂
Hope he watches. He was so good at dealing with the public. 5 stars. As for the rest. I will call this office on Monday to ask what evidence they accept. 1 star
I'd interested to see more tests of my rights to view and film public meetings. My local tory parish council is a farce and often worse than that. We've had parish councillors making death threats against those standing against them (shotguns at dawn). Just this week, a decision was made to remove all flowers from Denmead cemetry on health and safety grounds. Definitely need some auditing of county or parish council proceedings.
The last time I pulled my phone out in a council building was years ago. The security guard said something to me that I never understood. I then asked him was I was in a council building paid for by the public? Yes he said , was he a public worker paid for by the public? Yes he said. I then asked was I doing anything unlawful? Nope he said. This was nearly 4 years this October. And I only remembered stuff from my recording in 1983-1985 and a few times in the 90s. I then said you see why I asked all these questions. He nodded and said no. I then said public servants in a public building all paid for by my salary and council tax. Nothing unlawful. So why would a servant approach me and ask silly questions. That was it he walked away mumbling.
It's a public building payed for by us.! West Oxfordshire is one of the wealthiest. Pot holes everywhere. My home town Charlbury is where I went to primary and secondary school is now a London Escape centre. My home town is a range rover car park blocking and spoiling the once charming streets. Two of the once affordable places to eat and stay are too expensive for people who have lived there for years.. young people born there cannot afford the rediculous cost of housing. Many of the cottages are now air b and b's.. Its completely ruined. I find it quite upsetting when I go there.
