@@chiefmasterofdeepwarrens3208 Great emperors got deposed by far more than the Praetorian guard during the third century. Had the Praetorian guard stayed loyal there still would have been a need for reforms ground up. More importantly the Dominus system established by Diocletian worked fine until Theodosius thought: "You know what the Empire needs? A Child Emperor... Scratch that! Two Child emperors!"
Thank you all for joining me on this absolute rollercoaster of a campaign! Pretty much everything that could have gone wrong went wrong, both in-game and on the editing side, but with a bit of persistence and a lot of cavalry and large onager abuse, we finally made it. With this video done, I’m ready to decommission my current PC and build a new one, which should be much faster at editing, produce better-looking footage, and also shouldn’t do random hard crashes while running Attila or Warhammer II (which my current build has been doing for the last year-and-a-bit). Hopefully that’ll also mean quicker uploads but I won’t guarantee that until I actually start doing it.
holy shit what is happening? For months i'm listening your first three West Rome videos while showering in the morning and now you throw that all over by just bringing 2 new episodes? Never believed that this will happen, thank you
This series has taught me many things, among them, the most important is that when faced with an impassable obstacle I should play "push it to the limit" and headbut the problem till it breaks and if that don't work, use more headbut and put the music louder
This series is a textbook example of what happens to the odds when someone with sheer determination and endurance sets their mind on conquering them: they become a stairway to an even higher level of greatness. Well fought, Magister Equitum, well fought.
Attila: "You are done. I am the Scourge of God. I was made to kill you." Emporer Yrridian: "You may have heard these Words before, but now i will show you what they really mean: ROMA INVICTA!!"
Let it be Known that the Great Emperor Yrridian, Uniter of the Empire, Bringer of Order and Justice, and Onager abuser, Has been granted the Title of RESTITUTOR ORBIS. The Restorer of the World!
I always come back to this video everytime that i think of playing again with the romans in this game. It is really worth it, maybe Belisarius is the best idea.
What a ride it was... Funnily enough in my Western Rome campaign I went for a very easter roman tactic; send "gifts" to the huns every turn, even if it was little money. By the time Attila had arrived the Huns and I were military allies (due to all the "gifts" and both of us being at war with common enemies). Let me tell you; seeing the Huns wreck all other factions each time you did the "Join war against X" while leaving the land open for retaking was glorious to behold
Magister Equitum somehow managed to turn around the fall of the Western Roman Empire, a true master of the art of onagerjutsu and related disciplines. He took a hopeless situation, turned it around, made it more hopeless, turned it around again, made it disastrously hopeless, and one final time turned it around and emerged victorious and supreme. I am sincerely in awe after the previous episode.
The absolute proof that in terms of enjoyment and quality, length and time between updates do not have to be barriers. Excellent as always. I eagerly yet patiently await whatever you choose to do next.
fantastic. absolutely fantastic. I loved playing WRE- that old bearded man in the robe tells you to "cede frontier territories". Like that's going to happen. Invest in upgraded town guard in every settlement => game turns into tower defence, where 4 of your units kill 20 barbarians no problem. Love your videos by the way, they really capture what it feels to play this game.
I *just* saw this because RU-vid didn't want to bless me with your videos, apparently. God bless you for this great journey Yrridian, and here's to more.
*IMPERATOR* I can't believe you actually did it!!!! Always and I mean ALWAYS when get invested in this stuff they never finish because it takes too much work to edit a campaign that long to videos this short and tight. BUT YOU DID IT!! 2 fucking years but you did it! Been there from episode 1 man, good job!
Man I wish more people were as good as you, only problem is that you bless us with a video then go missing for 6 months, still worth it tho you are the best .
So you've finished it 1 year ago, i have followed this series since i was a student and had much time to play Total War games until now do not have much time to play. A lot of memories when seeing this and thank you for this master campaign, editing and also masterpiece background music in part 2 and part 3.
I just finished a divine triumph WRE on hard difficulty and Honorius literally survived in the frontline after numerous battles where he had to be thrown into the fight, until the campaign ended haha - ripe old age of 78 or something. That has to be an achievement in itself !
Great job dude! I’m so glad to see you doing more Attila content. Maybe start a new campaign as the Eastern Romans? :) I don’t really care just keep uploading!!
