Awesome! Love Pennsylvania, but West Virginia takes it to another level. The stars there are amazing at night, probably the darkest skies in the Eastern United States.
Cherry Springs, PA. and Spruce Knob, WV. are on the top ten list for best places to stargazing in the US. they are the two best places in the eastern US. to stargaze with Cherry Springs being considered one of the best in the country.
I really wish the weather would’ve been better 😔. I love my state and am so happy you visited here and sharing with everyone! It would be beautiful too to visit in the Fall with all the beautiful leaves 🍁.👍🏼✌🏼😎😊
Alright. My old stomping grounds. Got caught in a blizzard up there once in the 1970's. We made it to the Spruce Knob Lake Store where the old lady there had tubs of hot water and towels for all of us who got caught in the early freak Thanksgiving storm. She told us a story from when she was a little girl and the same kind of storm hit and a hunter crawled to a local barn for shelter where upon his feet burst. Never forgot that story or the woman telling it.
I use those instant mashed potatoes on shepherds pie. With frozen veggies and ground beef. Pretty tasty. I cheat lol. Beautiful scenery and I love the birdsong! Safe travels!
I had a good time up there! Camper-shell, though. Pull in, blow up my bed, open the grill and heat some smoked pork chops and had sugar-free cole-slaw for supper. Cleaned everything of grease, and stowed it. Got my evening tea and watched the sun go down! Fun and Peaceful Stuff!
Another cool vid. Around 16:37 when you are pouring water into your coffee cup it looks like a spider/bug floats to the surface right when you are saying "coffee time", maybe not but if so at least you got some protein there. Wander on.
I make those mashed potatoes all the time and just to help the viewers out I want to clarify, the entire package of mashed potaoes takes a 16.9 oz bottle of boiling or very hot water. Add the last ounce or so slowly after stirring well to get your desired thickness. They are a great camping food and come in various flavors and plain buttery style. They all take the same amount of water and you don't need to add milk or butter to them, so they are perfect for camping or van life. Another tip for van living, you can get all the boiling water you need from the nozzle on the coffee machines in the convenience stores. I fill my thermos for simple cooking and coffee or tea. I've never been charged but I was once chased down because they thought I filled my thermos with free coffee. Be sure they know you have only water. 😅 Ask if they charge for hot water. If you can't find the nozzle ask if they have hot water for tea and they will show you where it is. I usually buy a tea or something else I need or want as a common courtesy and then fill my thermos too for later. The water is boiling hot and stays hot for hours in my Stanley thermos. Hope this info helps others.
Love camping your videos are so great I put it on the big tv and I have my breakfast watching you can’t always get out in the bush so it’s so great that you take us along
Spruce Knob, WV. and Cherry Springs, PA. are the two best stargazing spots in the Eastern US. Cherry Springs, PA. is considered one of the best in the US. Put the lid on your pot and the water will come to a boil faster. I had those same potatoes for dinner tonight. LOL!
Pop Tarts, lol !!!! Try the Cinnamon ones. They are great, too, like a cinnamon roll. I'm on the hunt for a cool spot for the summer. This looks like a option.
Nothing like the sound of rain on the tent....so awesome , also, fresh hot coffee outside on a damp morning. The best!😊 Maybe next trip down, you can visit Bowden state fish hatchery. They raise golden rainbow trout and regular ones as well. Really beautiful fish.
Rainfly not staked to pull it away from the body and the poles not used to make the awning. Get caught in a decent rain for long enough and you'll learn why it is important to do that.
I quit eating those mashed potatoes while hiking the AT. My mistake was eating three packets in 1 day. Fawking gross. Never again 😂 Throw in some bacon bits and cheese. It makes it somewhat bearable. BTW your poo will have the same consistency as the mashed potatoes.
Just a potentially odd ball suggestion...you might find that your coffee dissolves more completely if you put the coffee in first and then pour the hot water into the cup. Just a thought.
Cliff thanks for taking us along. Beautiful mountains. You are pretty well organized. Wondering where you got that little stove. Thanks for the video. Take care.
Beautiful spot and the song birds were such a delight to hear. I need to rewind as I don’t recall seeing a lake and if you mentioned how much the camping fee was. 🤷🏻♀️ Nope, not mentioned, maybe you’ll share that info in your next clip. 🏕
Did you have someone with you when you around 13:00 before you called it a night. Just wondering because as you start speaking there is another voice in the background.
Maybe you could help out us viewers and tell us what direction you we are looking when you film. Without a sunrise or sunset we have no bearings. Thanks Woody!
Thank you for the video Bruh! Nicely documented. Hey, can anyone advise if Spruce knob lake campground has some water source available (such as well water) other than the lake? For cyclists who want to bike to this campground it would be good to know if drinking water is available. TIA.
Wow that camera really picks up the greens, great footage. WW can you please list the name of that little propane gas burner it seems very useful. Guess you would have to be careful transporting that, maybe not the kind of thing you would want to keep in your backpack!
sorry. I was making a comment while watchng the movie Zulu. But just as I was typing comments, the video switched over to your channel. I didn't mean to post this hear. Sorry.
those zulu warriors were something. they don't make tribes like that in africa anymore. none of the soldiers in Africa or tribes people have that kind of discipline or fighting ability anymore.
