Thank you for posting this wonderful video. Oh what I would give to have these. It is good to see Joe Roberts. I still have the Sound Practices magazines from several years ago. Turned me on to horns and SET amplifiers. Thanks again AV !
Wish my house had room for them. It’s hard to believe that we really haven’t invented anything better since they were made. Just Wonderful ! Life like sound ! You really need the size . Live reproduction !
While I am getting equally tired of hearing the same few female vocalists as most of you, I have to disagree that this type of recording and music will sound good on any speaker. It my be easy to reproduce on things like dynamics and density, it is not easy to reproduce on timbre, harmonics, detail and transparency.
What is OLD becomes NEW AGAIN! Goes to show that there is nothing really new under the sun. I notice the smoothness and the effortless of this system. They may have used old speakers and tubes; however, the related chassis reproducing the sound sources has improved and set aside the fact that most people would not have room in their homes for such monsters . . . it does fulfill a purpose of proving that there is a lot of OLD that still has value and never will be displaced by NEW -- except, perhaps, by prejudices and mental presets.
