Hey everyone! In this video I explore another tributary stream of the Dolores River in Southwest Colorado. This creek holds native Colorado River cutthroat trout, and is one of the creeks in this drainage where you are allowed to catch trout for the Western Native Trout Challenge which I've been slowly working on. My cousin was able to join me for this adventure and we both found some great examples of these native fish.
Hope you enjoy the video and let me know if you have any questions!
Tight lines,

How long of a pole are you using on these small busy streams?

I have both a 9 ft 5wt rod and 6.5 ft 4 wt rod. If the creek is smaller I usually use the shorter rod, but at times like during this day I used the 9 ft rod. Both work well for smaller water, but when the creeks get really small and tight or brushy then the 6.5 ft is a must.
