@@mdsanders1574 seems spontaneous/improvised to me. you'll see how there's a "lead" who initiates or cues a certain movement or step to the other person "follower" and sometimes you'll see when they have to quickly make up a move/step because they missed the cue or the "nudge".
A Jack and Jill competition means a randomly drawn partner to randomly drawn songs. West Coast Swing is lead/follow dance and in this competition, the dance is improvised. 😀
I don't know about the hug though, he hugged the guy from below his armpits for both of his arms which forces the other guy to have to hug him back above his shoulders. This means that he gets to embrace the other guy the best possible way and the other guy gets to embrace him back the worst possible way. For fairness, a proper hug to another man is by putting one arm above his shoulder and the other arm below his armpit so that both get to embrace each other at a 50-50 solid position, and not 100-0 position.
Wow that was REALLY good. Great Chemistry. The Rythm was poured all over the Dance floor. I love Leo in Every Style dance he does. Cool partner for this number as well
Congrats to you both on your win! Thinking you should do this again?! You are both so athletic and magical and build upon each other’s strengths. How rare and beautiful!
So, anyone reading this answer my question? Are all these dance impromptu. I heard they are, but it's hard to imagine when they blend together so well. This would have been a lot of fun to have been a part of. If I lived over that way. I'd want to go to Leo's dance studio.
New to this. Will someone please explain to me what this dance style is all about? Is it a competition? Are the partner pick randomly and not prerehersed?
Its all about 'leading' and 'following'. There are basic patterns (like a sugar-push, left-side pass, etc.). These can be varied in any way (for example with some extra steps in between) and something beautiful comes out of it. It all comes down to the connection that each partner has/should have. In J&J's (Jack&Jill's) you'll see that the partners and Songs are being chosen randomly and sometimes the partners haven't even danced with each other before which can be really entertaining. Hope this answered you questions, if not, you can tell me what else you'd like to know about wcs. :)
