Shane's voice is beautiful, elegant, and the most inspiring in Westlife

Very true, Shane is still my number 1 lead singer. I don’t care about the high notes of Mark. Actually I really did not miss him,

@@user-fu9kb9ov1m Mark and Shane share the lead vocals since the beginning of the band. Mark do things with his voice that Shane couldn't even dream off.

What have happend to shanes voice? He cant take so high notes anymore.

@@attachingconsciousness Actually it's Mark who can't do things Shane can do with his voice. Mark specialises in highest notes and that's it. Shane changes his voices from Rock raspy, to Croak, to smooth Vibrato hence he was used more for many of their songs. His tone has versatility and emotive glossiness. Mark sings for power and show off and not necessarily Emotion. There's a difference. It doesn't mean Shane doesn't have power but he has lots of emotion and character in his Tone as it is Euphonius. So dear all the Westlife hits needed that emotion Shane and Brian provided. And Mark did well in adding those highs in necessary parts. Don't confuse their style of singing with highs. Highs are usually emotionless and showy.

​@@sipnog3528But please let's not forget the soulfulness in Mark's voice ... His voice gives me goosebumps even without the high notes.. just normal singing and he gets more creative with every performance. Shane carries the emotiveness in WL and I totally agree but Mark carries the soulfulness and always takes WL to a new level- like a gospel level and that's what makes WL the best vocal group in my opinion. No one can reach their powerful voices and harmony

To be fair, the statement thrown by the reporter was not well thought of. It's like the reporter is implying that the band cannot hit high notes without Mark and asked them for "appreciation on how high he (Mark) goes". At the back of my mind, i thought, so the reporter is implying that Shane cannot hit them high notes? Ofcourse Mark will be Mark and is definitely a cut above, but then, for me the statement about how high Mark goes was unnecessary, considering that the 3 lads are still doing quite well. Good thing, Shane uttered a witty and classy response (as always). I really like him and Kian during impromptu interviews. 😍

Exactly ! Mark's voice in some songs sounds very tired and harsh! I just wish I could hear Shane sing the whole song because Shane's voice is extremely beautiful, bright, clear, resonant, gentle, soft, smooth and very inspiring. It sounds very relaxing to the soul

THIS IS ONE HONEST COMMENT!!! 💯 correct. Mark showy tone can irritate especially when he sings over Shane's parts as they have way different tones. I also didn't miss his highs. I 💯 prefer Shane soothing tones. They are more pleasing to the ear.

disagree. shane is the main vocalist. it's just mark has the highest voice.

They can all sing, albeit with varying qualities/difference in tone.
