Thanks for making the awesome videos Chris. My first RC was a Tamiya "Rough Rider" (same chassis as the "Sand Scorcher" Baja bug). I've recently re-kindled my love for the RC hobby and have been looking for a good kit (building the model is, in my opinion, one of the best aspects of the hobby...RTR is great for a quick fix but people miss so much of the RC experience when they just want to open a box, put batteries in it, and go). I wish that more manufacturers would offer kit versions. Good kits are hard too find. Tamiya was the only company that still makes a good kit (performance, not so much without a lot of mods, but still really fun to build, great directions/diagrams, and decent quality parts). Bashing around with the Xmaxx is fun (love the comment about the Xmaxx and the girl in high school...lol in the other video) but building a "life-like" scale model that actually works is what RC is all about (my opinion). I just purchased an Axial SCX10v2 kit (Jeep Cherokee body) and I look forward to building it. Painting has always been my weakest skill and you have been kind enough to show everyone how to paint and at least give us a chance at not making an RC terd...lol. Thanks man! Cheers, Jeff (Garage Maker Guy)….If I am ever in Missouri again, I will definitely hit up "O'Malley's".
Awesom job. Both the paint job and the video production. I enjoyed watching from start to finish. Exceptionally great music too. I will check that out. Thumps up.
Kick Ass, I have been to that place several times. I wished I had knew you were coming to Castle when I saw that video, I'm only a short time away and would have enjoyed meeting you. Excellent paint job, did a great deal of justice to the place.
I don't know.... The first thought i got when you displayed the finished body was " Mother-f'er!, how the F did you come up with that!?". It's like watching Bob Ross, you think you know whats comming and how to do it and half way in the video you feel like flipping the computor screen over, slam the door and go out and cut down a tree in rage or something.... Damn you Chris!, stop making us feelbadman like this!. So in conclution....good effin work...hats of and all that jazz....
Nice work. I need to work on my patience when painting bodies. I get so excited to finish it up that I rush and make mistakes. Keep making these videos. Awesome work.
very cool effect you've achieved there buddy. yet another awesomely creative yet devilishly simple paint job. looks like axial have a huge hit on there hands with this RC!
Another great job. I have been using PS55 on the outside of the windows instead of smoke on the inside, it works well an you can vary how opaque you want it.
Hello ,Chris as always I thank you for more of your great ideas and tricks to keep it real.i painted mine metallic green and black, but used the rubber bed liner spray to give it a different look and feel, It has worked out well on the beds of hard bodys, Keep up the great videos and the unboxing, Next time you are on the east coast look me up and let me show you around Solomons Island Maryland, You will be back. Take care brother.
This came out phenomenal! Thank you for always adding in advice and tips. I have trouble with the smoke/ tint on the windows it always seem to not look correct. It either runs a bit ( I know too heavy ) or I will get spotting.
Nice paint job! Before you go out and buy the proline interior take note that that interior is specifically made for the proline cherokee which is significantly smaller in scale than the axial Cherokee. Best of luck to you!
another great video Chris been waiting to see this one !! always a pleasure to watch you work . Still looking forward to chatting again too !!! till next time :)
Damn Chris, you have such ninja skills with a knife to cut those lines and letters so damn straight. Superb job! I have a Blazer body to do soon, so thanks for the inspiration and reminding me to order up some liquid mask :D
HemiStorm RC - Custom RC builds, painting videos and more I may actually do a video on it, although I doubt it will come out anywhere near as neatly as yours lol.
just awwsom paint... love it like the trick with the water.. but do a video of how the clerance is with the new scx102.. .. and compear them.. :) and sory about bad english..
Perfect english, no worries. The version 2 has way more clearance, I would need to set them up similar with the wheels to show it but the reduced pumpkin size is a great feature.
sorry man, you underestimate the work you did on the rear lights, in my opinion they are wonderful. Could you give me some suggestions to get the same result. Thank you
Hey Chris just wanna say luv your videos especially your painting ones, you have mad skills. Im working on a body for a buddy which is beer related, any advice or specific color you recommend?? Thanks, cheers
i'm really REALLY interested in how you worked the tail lights. i hate decals too. i love the rig, but honestly the tail lights decals have it look cheap. i've searched for bucket tail lights but can't find anything. any suggestions? thank you.
You can make some out of styrene or keep an eye out for companies like Knights Customs who will most likely come out with a printed version. In making them in paint, just save them for last and keep some opacity when you paint them up.
+HemiStorm RC - Custom RC builds, painting videos and more Ok. Two of Mine werde completely out of function. especially the lower Schock caps are crap. The are Made of such Light Plastik that the snap very easily. Thx for the replys though. peace
