It's normal to lose around 100 hairs a day. Hairs go through a natural cycle where they stop growing at a certain length, the new hair growing behind it pushes it out (think how body hair doesn't grow past a certain length). As long as your brush isn't pulling excessively hard or breaking hair mid-strand you are ok. I actually prefer seeing a lot of hair on my hair brush for this reason - it means I am removing all the "dead" hairs so they won't randomly get dropped everywhere throughout the day
I like to use both! My hair gets very tangly and frizzy easily. I find that if I try and brush out tangles initially with Tangle Teezer, it just doesn't work. I have thick, curly hair (3bish maybe?), so what I do is use Wet Brush in the shower to detangle. Following the shower, I detangle with Tangle Teezer to make sure everything is okay without ripping out all of my hair. Hopefully this helps someone out (I know I was once unsure of which one is better, but then I realized both together work wonders for my hair). I got a Tangle Teezer from Costco once, and it was cheaper than it usually is so PRO TIP!! Hopefully I can try out the Denman brush for styling since I don't really have a styling brush!
Thanks for doing this video. I have curly hair and am just trying to figure out how to style it better. After almost 40 years! Lol. Also, that spray bottle is awesome for those who have arthritis. You don’t have to constantly pump 👍🏽
My favorite brush is the wet brush. I hadn't try the other brush. I know it will be on sale this week at ulta. So probably I will try it. Thank for your video. It was very informative.
The tangle teaser side was definitely more clumped. I have the same style of tangle teaser that you have. I use it in the shower to distribute my deep conditioner, then I use it to distribute my leave in or curl creams. My hair is short so I don't have too many tangle issues. I would like to see a video showcasing what new tools are at the forefront now. Thanks for sharing.
I use both. The Tangle Teezer to dry detangle before my wash, then after my hair comes out the towel (I leave it in a microfiber towel for 30-45 minutes), I use the Wet Brush. I use dupes, though, no longer the real deal, and they are just as good. I bought the "shower brush" at my local Action store (I'm in Belgium) for 1 euro and 1.45 when they were a little more expensive still. A bargain! Totally recommend if you live in Belgium or The Netherlands. :)
My favorite curly hair brush of all time is the CURLY HAIR SOLUTIONS Flexy Brush. I bought mine on Amazon for $19. I've tried most of the "curly" brushes on the market, but I've been reaching for this one for 4 + years. It detangles my hair, but it is best at styling/clumping my curls (3b/c, fine, medium/low density, long hair). That said, I prefer detangling my hair with my fingers and a wide tooth comb. Detangling my hair only takes a few minutes. I use the Flexy brush for smoothing and clumping my curls. As always, great video! 🙂
My favorite brush depends on the type of tangles I have on that particular day. I never use the denman brush for detangling only as a styler. I use either the Felicia leatherwood or the tangle teaser for detangling. I use to use the wet brush, but it was replaced by the Felicia leatherwood brush..... you should try that one as well. Love your hair!!!
I just bought the Ugly Swan wet brush. It has only been around either this year or last year. It is new on the market. I have read a customer review they like it more than their Tangle Teaser. The Ugly Swan wet brush had received all 5 star reviews. I was going to get the wet brush or tangle teaser. Since watching this video and done some new product research. I will be happy with the Ugly Swan wet brush as it is more advanced than the tangle teaser.
I have one of the original hand held Tangle Teasers and because I am left handed, find it hasn't worked for me as I have to use it upside down and back to front. The results you received from your TT was impressive and I recon I will maybe purchase the one you used. Your hair is fine like mine and I can only dream of getting perfect curls like you. Thanks for the info.
It's all about detangling, not leaving bouncier curls. I have long straight kinda going thinner hair. I like the video & your hair is very pretty. But all that hair in the tangle tamer makes me think the wet hair brush is the one for me. 👍
Tangle teezer does overall a way better job. But I have a question. Do products on wet hair play a role in the curls? I have curls myself but because I produce so much sebum, I do not use anything unless my curls become too frizzy to ignore. I'm just curious if different brushes complement different products depending on the look you are going for.
That's a great question. I think certain product can definitely play a role on your curls just like certain tools can too. Your hair will most likely look different if you are not used to using any product then start using products. I wish I didn't have to use product lol.
I use this same tangle teezer for detangling and Denman for styling. Like you, I have more hair in the TT than my comb. I will probably drop TT and use my comb and Denman for styling. If you have true black hair, buy the pink tangle teezer so you can see the hair in the brush, which helps to clean it. 😂😂😂
Those tangles in the video reminded me of when I used to use Pantene Smooth and Sleek. And with Shea Moisture. Herbal Essence Bio Renew Mango had the least amount of tangles.
OMG, Ro...I have the identical tangle teaser and it really does a beautiful job as a definer but the detangling... the shedding is crazy!! I've been finger detangler these days but I'm going to look for your wet brush for detangling 😳😳
The tangle tweezer has been used for a Styling brush and Not a detsngking brush i think you should detangle with the EPIC PROFESSIONAL WET BRUSH instead and use the tangle tweezer as a styling brush
I would love to see a video of your recommended hair brush/tools for curly hair. I have an old Denman Large Paddle Brush from my relaxer days. Also, I like to put organic, fermented rice water in my 360 sprayer...along with a minute amount of lemongrass oil or peppermint oil.
I have the tangle teezer in all purple with the handle. I also have a wet brush comb. I have tried the wet brush brush didn't like it. I prefer the wet brush comb. I have straight fine hair.
Ive heard good things about both but always imagined since there is more teeth that there is going to be more hair loss. Ill stick to using my wide tooth comb lol
People lose around 50-100 hairs a day on average, so I think it is pretty normal for a product marketed for detangling is going to pull out the shed hairs. I like a wide tooth comb too but they are not as great for detangling imo.
Where can I get the wet brush? I think you called it the Denman wet brush. I have short extremely natural curly hair and I have been conditioning my hair in the shower and using a wide tooth comb brush and I found that I am losing a lot of hair. So I’ve decided to brush my hair right after I get out of the shower but I need a good detangling brush.
I think if you are washing your hair at least a couple times per week than the tangle teezer is amazing. If you wait a week or longer, it may pull out more hair if your hair is matted.
What I've decided is that I'm using a wet brush or wide tooth comb if I wait a week to wash my hair. The tangle teezer definetly doesn't remove that much hair when my hair is washed every 3 or 4 days. My hair was so tangled that I was scared too!
I think both would work but if you have thick hair and density maybe the tangle teezer. I feel like the wet brush was a bit gentler on my low density fine hair.
Tangle teezer is bull! Kept on loosing hair so harsh on scalp and hair. Wetbrush is pro. Just freakin waisted my money for buying tangle teezer and gave me more stress with hair loss
I have 2b/c curls do you think that something like the denman or tangle teasing brush would be necessary for my level of waves because I always thought that those brushes were more for type 3 and up.
I had the original Tangle Teezer and gave it away to my friend who has a curly daughter. I have and love the CHS detangling brush but now I NEED to have this Ultimate Tangle Teezer! I wonder how long before us Canadians have access to it😩. You should try LUS Brand all in one curl cream. I think you would love it. I top it off with gel in the summer time but it is my all in one styler for the colder months:)
@@DiscoCurls The Curly Hair Solutions Flexy brush. Someone mentioned it below as well...I forgot the proper name. P.S: I placed a late night order to Ulta for that NYM curling cream that you used in this video:)
I also ordered this Tangle Teezer brush because I cannot wait for it to be available here. I think the CHS Flexy brush is similar to the Tangle Teezer but I will be the judge of that;)
Actually you can buy a tangle teezer brush from Canada from websites like amazon , sephora and otjer websites too, I live in Canada and just got mine today
thanks for your sharing your opinion. I know the video is old, but you should use better products. The goal is to detangle without any brush, and if you do use a brush it shouldn't be this hard. Good luck! i hope your system has improved.
