"Slippery surface" cones where used more before a-frames came out. Here are some reasons why cones are used instead of A-Frames; Floor cones will not fall over and are more stable than the traditional ‘A’ frame sign so users can be assured the public will be made aware of any potential hazards The cones where not intended for trainstations but for the safety of all.
