In previous trials with the Tuffy I felt it was far too wet even in relatively calm conditions and a lot worse in chop with the wind.. I ran the Jomo 300 not long after and found it considerably drier - but to be sure that it had nothing to do with the weight distribution, trim position, and or conditions being different the only way to know was to compare them side by side.
For detail orientated here are some rough details to help you comprehend what you're seeing, yep that tuffy sprays and sprays, and this was a calm day! - for this trial the
- Jomo is weighed with a 60kg person, 30kgs dog, 30+ kg Electric motor and battery, 20hp Tohatsu 4stroke, cast deck flooring and 15ltr fuel tank
- Tuffy 85kgs adult, 30kg child, 15hp Tohatsu 4stroke, 15 ltr fuel tank.
Then we swapped - my decision was made pretty easily after these trials as a dry ride was more important to me, which speaks for itself really - Tuffy is a great work horse but the ride on the Jomo 300 is superior by far as is the finished detail and extras that come with it.
