Delightful film. I remember this Carnival so vividly despite being just 5 years old because my dad was Chairman of the Weymouth Round Table and it was his duty to help organise the event. I went to Lodmoor car park early that day with my Dad as he got all the HGV floats parked so they could be dressed. I distinctly recall the large lorry carrying the Carnival Queen (actually shown in this clip) arriving and then the florist’s van turning up to put the flowers on it. I also remember meeting the Carnival Queen and her attendants and thinking she must be incredibly important !! Hahaha I then watched the procession from the balcony of the old Nationwide Building Society office which was then on the Esplanade (sadly the cine film doesn’t pan to the left, if it had I would be able to see myself). Love the Nat West team all dressed up :-) Great film thanks for sharing. Phil Scott
