i Did sort out the issue in the end. I ended replacing all o rings on filter plus lift pump and high pressure pump. There is also an o ring at the back of the rail in a banjo bolt for fuel return. i found the filter was the main issue with a small oring in the water sensor being a problem as well. I bypassed the the fuel return valve on filter.Didnt matter how may time i replace this o ring i found it still let air in. I got a friend to machine up a plug for the hole. I put a stop valve in the return line back to tank to avoid any leak back. I have since replaced injectors and i have added a cav filter in which i change more often and change the main filter maybe every 50000km. One more thing i added - i took the bleed valve off and connected my own which i can connect a pump to and purge anytime. This helps if you are stuck somewhere with dodgy o ring and car can still be purged to start
I have exactly same problem . and have spent many hours trying to solve it. your vid was useful . I put the hoses on like you did and it helped to see what was going on. I believe the plastic fitting on top of the filter is a problem perhaps faulty but I can not find a replacement. so I will try fitting a non return valve on the fuel supply line before the filter and see if that makes a difference. since it looks like the fitting is leaking air into the filter . I have changed filters and checked o rings but non of this is helping. so a non return valve it is.
Im still working on it. I believe its coming from the fuel line out of the tank. I have narrowed it down to the elbow fitting going into the fuel tank i will change that and see if that makes a difference. Mean time i fitted a solenoid and electrical fuel pump inline and now i can bleed the air out in about 30 seconds and that lets me use thevehicle while i track down where the air i getting in. The nonreturn valve did not make any difference.
There is also a common problem with Diesel filter . There is a hummidity sensor on the base of the filter check the o-ring and always use an original filter.
hi, I have the same problem, but only in gear and when I have little diesel in the tank (1/4 to go down) the car switches off in gear what can it be? Thank you
I have the same issue with my 2.7 CRD JGC WJ, i have had the HP pump serviced and sealed, but the issue has come back, did you cure the issue if so how, cheers.

@@MrRobbiecrawfordI gave it to jeep to repair it because it wouldn't start 6 months later. Almost 2 000 euros later it still wouldn't start. I sold it and now it's better lol, that's bad case I liked this car but sometimes it's bad to keep it
that is bacause you use total shit pipe lines, you can even see how air is going in use diesel tubes, those shit lines you can only use for garden hose
