Fiddler Winifred Horan doesn't simply play her instrument -- she attacks it. You can see the frayed ends of her bow flaying about in this wonderful performance live in the Backroom of The Burren on June 5, 2013. Winifred is joined by frequent collaborators Mick McAuley (accordion) and Colm O'Caoimh (guitar).
The Burren Backroom Series is hosted by Brian O'Donovan of A Celtic Sojourn on WGBH Radio.

This version of High Road to Linton is stunning. Variation and consistency and a strength between all the musicians as one is what you need for a successful traditional tune! :D Beautiful music

The second tune is an adaptation of the Boys of Malin reel. You can find this version on track 1 of Solas' album The Turing Tide.

Fan-tas-tic!!!! I actually like Winifred's playing more in this, than Solas. And that was fantastic! See what I'm sayin'? This sounds so much more Winifred, scatting violin!
