Astonishing discipline & musicianship, with a healthy supplement of theatrics. A superb promotion for percussion! 'Well done' is a mere understatement ...
Solid performance guys, really good stuff! Thoroughly enjoyed it, from all sections! Really neat bass feature, never seen before. Great mallet chemistry. Drum set spot on. Good snares and tenors. Two thumbs up!!
So far, this decade belongs to the Bluecoats. They even change their name and dominate in the winter! The boxed-in bass feature was, arguably, the coolest thing done on vinyl.
You do know that this organization actually has nothing to do with the Bluecoats right? Add to that the 0 championships of the Bluecoats and an overrated 2014 show, and I don't really get any of your statement.
Thank you. Many of the players also marched with the BC's this past summer. Check out the BC parking lot crowd. They are the favorite/most interesting drumline to watch. The writing/style/composition is very similar b/t these two groups. WGI always has an affiliation to DCI, naturally. Whether in direct or direct, they are helping keep chops warm and developed in the winter. Thanks!
I agree that Bluecoats are certainly a fan favorite! I personally, along with many others, find the technical skill of the Blue Devils more interesting, but I certainly understand the BC love. Sorry for sounding like such a dick in the first comment!
The Irish Asian9 yezzur, he started out with Pulse Open in 2011, made Pulse in 2012 and stayed with Pulse until this year (2015) aging out as center snare.
Every show has a theme/story and they need to portray it through expressions to engage the audience. This show is very inspired by Tim Burton's style which is why they are acting the way they do, this show earned them a Gold medal in World Class finals :)
