DatGuyWithNoName they always do multiple takes for these kinds of videos. Sometimes groups don’t even do a full run and they just cobble it together chunk by chunk like crowns videos where you can here the met in with certain chunks and out with others

Dutch I think a huge part of it is that they have marching programs in their middle schools that feed directly into their program. That doesn’t happen where I’m from. No group stands a chance when these Chino kids have been taught the marching arts since they were 12. And yeah, they have money.

Tristan Stevenson Burton’s grip isn’t as good for high volume playing.

@@ryanzink9 Your probably right. I'm no expert, but I think the Stevens grip is easier with thinner mallets and since the shaft on vibe mallets are thicker, I think Burton works better.

It's just easier to teach the same grip for kids that eventually want to play marimba. Also it's just a bit more of a time saver teaching wise if the approach is universal.

My old high school used some of their techs. They don’t really have any tolerance for people who are still learning and such. They’re really only effective if you already know how to play. Chino hills has a middle school feeder program, so that’s why they can play like this

I’m sitting here as an eight grader on snare because they were desperate with a freshman on snare who doesn’t even want to be there. So there’s 2 snares 2 quads, 4 bases, and the front ensemble is almost all age outs. Yeah we used to be top of the class like this. Now we’re depleating. It’s sort of sad tbh.

I relate, my top three were Ayala, Dartmouth, then Chino. That being said, Chino was definitely much cleaner than Dartmouth and Ayala, but it think it was a great year overall

IMO THEY WERE BETTER LAST YEAR Bass line need a lot of work drums set chops are on point and kinda of save the line honestly all in all they did a hell of a job
