Back when sign-offs were still a thing, but programming no longer stopped. Miss this weird era of early morning films/religious shows. WGR was a fantastic Buffalo station to watch in Toronto!
Retrontario’s primary mission is the preservation, research and exhibition of rare videotape recordings (1970s to 1990s) recorded off of any and all Ontario (and surrounding area) TV channels; footage which would likely be lost if not sought out and preserved digitally. We also hope to create an ongoing oral history of this content through comments left below the videos. At 0:11 is unheard of music material, which is muted due to a copyright claim by a record label's music manufacturer and its distributor, from "TV 2 All Night" on WGR-TV 2 Buffalo (now NBC Buffalo affiliate WGRZ-TV Channel 2), the muted music with WGR-TV 2's broadcast day continuation, airs at 5:25 as well as showing its microwave relay KYP-22, right before "Jim Bakker" is on.

Channel 2 seemed to have a ton of such military films. One of them - "Life Aboard an Aircraft Carrier" - aired on schedule one day in 1981, causing "Game of the Week" fans to miss the end of Nolan Ryan's no-hitter. This incident was document in Bruce Nash and Allen Zullo's "The Baseball Hall of Shame 2." It showed how this station learned not one thing from the 1968 "Heidi Bowl" fiasco.

It should be titled "Legalese" after one program ended and before another program began. It's time to say good night and good morning from NBC 2 WGRZ Buffalo.

The audio seems to have been copyrighted partially

It appears that the muted audio was a reference to Taft which had recently had sold the station to General Cinema.

Any chance you have any WGRZ sign-offs from late 1990 or early 1991? After showing infomercials all night they would sign off over what I considered, at the time anyway, a piece of unsettling music. I would rally like thear that music again, 30+ years later.
