Wow. They weren't just business partners. They were real friends. They really loved each other. George's passing must've left Andrew just absolutely heartbroken. He probably still is.
He was 19 going on 45. I've never seen anyone so mature at that young age. I'm sure the music business makes you mature fast, but he had to have some of that beforehand to handle the sharks.
And it's even more amazing to think of how most of us in the '80s thought he was a puppet, a brainless symbol of Thatcherism, we applied that imagery to all those boy-bands like Duran or Spandau... they all turned out to be anti-thatcherite (apart from Tony Hadley).
Andrew always looked so uncomfortable being interviewed. Still does. George on the other hand was a natural. Yet Andrew was comfortable in his own skin where George was riddled with self doubt. An amazing partnership, friendship and band. One of the best pop groups ever!
Yet Andrew was always friendly and charming on camera. It’s clear why they were close friends, practically like brothers. They were the perfect study in contrasts and ironies.
They were so young here. George was just age 21 in this video. What a gorgeous looking guy I thought he was when I was a teenager. Now I have a son that's almost the same age. Yikes, time sure has flown.
@ARU-vid User that's not necessarily true, you can do everything right health-wise and still die of a heart attack, cancer, etc... You didn't really need to comment on mine with such a lack of consideration, now did you?
@ARU-vid User You have no idea with how much shit you're filled inside, and how much time, that could be used on something better in your life has gone on this. Just tell me, what are you doing with your life? 🤗
George's hair has an incredible wave LOOOL I love him! very beautiful man (inside and outside). I really don't care if he's gay or not, he's an amazing singer with a long career into the music, and a very handsome man.
Cause mens egos are fragile and they might think its gay but I'm not gay nor a homophobe but I simply adore him and his hairstyle I'm gonna try to get it.
This was from a time when we were young, healthy and full of life and thought we'd live forever. Little do any of us know how our lives will play out or where we will in be when the end comes. Cherish your lives people, for it will go by so quickly, and by the time you realize your youth has left you, you won't know where the all time has gone and it will seem like just yesterday you were on top of the world. If there is an afterlife I surely hope to see all of you there.
George Michael seems as if he was so nice - he's really honest in this interview and doesn't put on any of that 'Look at me, I'm a big star' stuff that so many do. Especially as he's so young for all the fame. It doesn't seem to have gone to his head at all. He also seems very sensible. I realky love and admire the way that he could laugh at himself like when he was in the Extras Christmas special. It was so very, very sad that he died so young. He was so incredibly talented, such a fantastic voice. He's very much missed.
George and Andrew seem so sweet and sincere. They both are so charming and their personalities are great! They respect each other. It is obvious that they are great friends.
I was born in the 70's, George Michael was my first love and I lived and breathed Wham. It was everything you can imagine and so much more. I used to sleep with a Wham record cover under my pillow hoping I would dream about George. Happy days!
Yes, am a fortunate 70’s babe and big Wham! fan too, such a privilege to born in this era for this reason alone - very obvious gifted talent from day 1 😇🦋
George never thought he was all that. George has always been critical of his looks. His fans always though he was gorgeous, and I am one of them. He is so multi-talented, and the voice is untouchable by any other artist. Thank God he never resorted to plastic surgery. God already made hin perfect.
M. A What in the world are you on about?? More female DNA? That isn't a thing. Being gay certainly has some sort of genetic components but that isn't even close to having more female DNA. Gender and sexual orientation are two totally different things.
@@pussyfunk-stopputtingthepu2652 When people say "Michaelangelo is a famous Renaissance Painter" even without saying "was" we all understand they're talking about the past and a dead person, no need to overreact like that
George looked so gorgeous and CUTE with that blond hair! He was incredibly articulate and intelligent at just 21 years old. And I've always thought he had the sexiest speaking voice I've ever heard, too. His eyes sparkle! Most handsome man I ever saw! AND the BEST singer and songwriter, too. How can someone be so perfect? He was a vision of loveliness....a dream...
"Retire with Grace." And so he has. Beautiful man, beautiful answer. When both feet are firmly planted on terra firma, you can feel the joys of success in a much more grounded way. Love WHAM! biggly - miss their music so much. Re-living those golden years of Fantastic & Make It Big thanks to the new release, Netflix doc and Andrew's gorgeously-written and beautifully insightful memoir. 💖
George was Amazingly beautiful, talented and a very generous philanthropist . gone way too soon. no doubt you are in heaven making music for God. We miss you already
How I love to watch these interviews of George! Brings back so many memories of the 80s. I was 14 when this video was filmed, and I fell in love with George and his music at first sight and first listen! He was so young here, and SO intelligent and articulate. Talented, insightful, polite, and a smile that could light up the room! The charisma he had in concert---wow! George looks so cute at 21 with that fluffy blond hair.....he had it ALL!
GM was a genius that put together a group to experience himself as an artist and then went solo to built his own image. I always thought he looked normal to me and I will always miss him!
Tu me manque Georges Michael.
Both extremely articulate and despite sudden and immense fame really grounded. George cites this period as the only time he were enjoying fame - his personal life took a huge downward turn but never prevented him from creating so many incredible songs. Sadly missed.
how come entertainers in recent years aren't like that anymore?? they are so transparent and real, their authenticity touches me on a totally different level. It's not their look that fascinates me, it's their essence and realness - and not to forget their god-given talent of course...
@@barcelona12ist you’re the tool. You have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about and unless you can’t read we were talking about George as a person! Don’t come here being insulting with absolutely zero facts about Harry Styles! grow up
@@barcelona12ist and also George would tell you himself he made some bad songs ! I loved George but don’t pretend he didn’t have huge dips in his success because he did

I realize that its complete rarity to find such an intelligent, honest and funny person in a boyband-.. this guy has so many talents.. he dryed up the best you can in music business. wonderful!
....beautiful people,..Andrew is the wise guy,...didn't waste his life..but Gorgey,...handsome guy with a brilliant voice..its Careless whispers i guess . Universe had given him everything...but he seems didn't realized it...some us have this problem of having everything but not realizing it...nevertheless,..i love him....made my teen days of 80s so magical...
+matthew_star_fan Yeah he has had a many different hairstyles over the years......and they all looked great on him! Wish he wouldn't of went to the buzz cut,Oh well he's still SUPER SEXY to me !!!!!!!!!
Omgoshh what a lovely precious memory of these two❤....George was literally the most beautiful man that ever walked this planet and if I had the opportunity I would have told him everyday!!!....He was a musical songwriting genius and if anyone says differently they're just a hater!!...There was only one George Michael and he can never be duplicated!!...He will be forever missed and forever in my heart🙏😇❤❤❤
Both very handsome men. They certainly had it all! I don’t care what the haters say they were and still one of the best groups us Brits in the 80s and George’s solo career speak for itself he was born to be a star and one of the greatest singers and lyricists ever! Rest in Peace George we all still miss you
i remember them doing an interview before anybody had heard of them, you could tell straight away they both had their heads screwed on. wham! were brilliant.
I would like to thank two people who made George .. That is Jack and Lesley... THANK YOU for the gift you created. If you had not. George wouldn't be here sharing his gift of music.
First time i ever saw george michael, i almost fell off my chair, those eyes, that voice, that beautiful hair...huge huge crush on him, i still cant believe he is gone...
Very intelligent answers... I appreciate what George had to say about how they handle the critics. Insightful for his age and the time they were in- just at the beginning of their career...
Now that I don’t remember anymore how awful it was to be young, I miss 80’s soo much. The world was all open and we all thought we’d live forever. And they were both gorgeous.
