I think the Double Whammies were created for fans of the old Nickelodeon game show Double Dare, especially when you consider a.) the original Press Your Luck had to be the most appealing game show to kids of the 1980's like myself thanks to those Whammy animations, and b.) Double Dare premiered in 1986, the same year Press Your Luck was cancelled.

Did you know that the Basketball Whammy was originally a Whammy in season 1, in Season 2 it became a Double Whammy and the Phone Whammy had old lines in Season 1 as (x2 Can you hear me now?, You're Out of Range and Money),in Season 2, it was changed to (I'm losing you, you're dropping out,You're out of Range and Money).

The Harry Potter one at 3:03 is funny. I also like the Godfather one that goes "Don't ever press your luck with the family" at 1:36. And the spelling one at 3:16. I rarely see the one at 4:03. 5:22 is probably my favorite Double Whammy. 7:42 is a close second. I take that back, 8:32 is tied for second.

I think some of us have noticed that there are two different colors of Whammy. The guys are the full red, while the females are the sort of pink-ish color, like human skin. Next time Press Your Luck gets rebooted, I want to see the whammy's from both Press Your Luck and Whammy (including the Double Whammy's) so we will also have the other characters from both shows (Tammy Whammette, Fang, and Bill). But I want them all to be computer animated instead of hand drawn, and I want them to have the original design with the yellow cape instead of this design.
