What’s ACTUALLY Inside Dolores’ Room In Encanto? | Disney's Encanto 

I like this theory! It makes sense. I imagine that Delores' room would be set up more like a concert hall or recording studio. Recording studios have sound proofing, and are full of instruments.

According to the director, Dolores' room is soundproof. She heard Luisa's eye twitching because they were at Antonio's party, but she doesn't hear anything at night (gracias al cielo). It's the only thing we know about her room.

I always though she heard Louisa's eye twitching when she went to the bathroom at night and then added the "all night" part to be more dramatic. Because otherwise she would've heard Alma's monologue and Mirabel's crawling and talking to Casita too.

As someone with auditory sensory issues, I can personally relate to finding comfort in the beautiful order of music as apposed to the cacophony of everyday sounds

If she can hear an eye twitching, she can also hear everyone pooping 💀

I feel bad for Dolores and Tia Peppa. 😭 They got curses instead of gifts.

I think her gift is to alert outside danger and someone made an art where when she was little Peppa would make light rain to help her fall asleep!

Pretty sure she can focus her hearing on a specific thing she wants to hear otherwise all noise would blurr eachother out. Like how on the dinner table she focused her hearing on Isabella's bf

Makes me wonder what her ceremony looked like once her gift kick in. More seriously, since the gift since to match the kids (Tonio loves animals and his gift is to be able to talk to them), i always figured she was born wîth a more sensitive hearing (which is permanent) and her gift morphed it into super hearing which she can control too (she was able to focus in on Marianno's house when asked - and she doesnt seem to be losing her cool which she definetly would if she could always hear the whole village - making me think she can control it)

They should make "Encanto 2" and give us a chance to see everyone's room. Maybe show a little bit of how Felix and Agustine met their wives. What was everyone's childhood like? Maybe a plot idea being the magic starts to tear down again, because Abuela is dying. Everyone is sad by this and upset so there is a lot of frustration and personal emotions involved. This causes everyone to try to figure out how to help Abuela on their own instead of working together, which brings a scene of just raw arguing. From all of that, everyone gets each other's gifts by accident when the candle explodes in the air from too much negative energy. Now, the family must go on an adventure to find the exact spot where Abuela was given the house and the candle. Not too far away would be the village, in ruins of course from years of vacancy. They realize they HAVE TO work together, and use their gifts to navigate them to where the village used to be. There in the village, they will be able to find a serum that Abuela needs that would help heal her. Along the way, every trial and tribulation has its time to shine. Those jealous of the Family Madrigal and their abilities. Those who want to kidnap them and show them off as freaks for being "different". They specifically want Julieta, for her ability to heal, so they can heal some people in THEIR village. When they overcome this and we get closer to the middle/end of the movie. Everyone learns how to use each others gifts. And with the help of some extra people who are connected to Abuela's old village, they find what they need to help Abuela. Sadly, Abuela dies just before the Madrigals make it back to her. Their sadness and love brings them together. Because of this, they are able to appreciate everyone and their efforts with their gifts, as well as understanding why in the first place, everyone tried to work alone. This restores everyone's original gifts. Miraculously, Mirabel gets granted a gift. Since she was the one who mattered the most at the end of the first film, she'll get the gift of protection. Being able to quickly shield others from danger with a temporary bubble until they can be further helped. A bubble, because it's so cute and random and means well, like she sang about her dad Agustine in the first movie. While in the bubble, it gently heals whoever is in it, similar to her mom's gift of healing. The bubble smells good and is pretty with neat visuals, so the person inside isn't scared of it, like Isabela's gift. Though it is temporary, it is a strong bubble, with strength stronger than Luisa, that Mirabel can instantly pop on her own with a wave of her hand, before it eventually pops after 8 minutes. We get left on a cliff hanger at the end, because Mirabel having a gift has just changed the family. How could Mirabel who wasn't given a gift at a young age like everyone else, eventually get a gift? What did she do? What will this mean for Mirabel as she has never been in the position to need magic? Will she be successful with her gift? What dangers and challenges could possibly require her use of this new gift? That's all found out in "Encanto 3". Where interesting events unfold for the third and final time with the Madrigal family, forever changing the lives of the family and the village as a whole. This could be the last movie for "Encanto".

Her gift isn't really a gift, like her mom's in a way. I definitely wouldn't want her power. I hope she can control the range. Otherwise, why isn't she always in pain? It would be like Mao from Code Geass. Her shape shifting brother's power can be dangerous or even pervertive.

Having hypersensitive hearing, I promise you that unless the walls are thick enough to block outside sounds, it's not relaxing.

Dolores is actually such a fun character in the movie.

That actually gives us the opposite of a peace of mind because folk had mentioned before how she would then hear when couples are doing it and we all brushed it off saying her room is sound proof. Poor Delores! Music can only cover so much

Dolores gift is fr more of a curse. Being able to hear every. Single. Sound within a mile radius. Even something as quiet as an eye twitch. I can't imagine how terrible she really has it

I could see her having like a soundproof closet. It just makes me feel better to be able to imagine that.

And also, while some of the other characters are kind of beautiful, I think that she’s the most beautiful

It kinda makes me sad bc her power seems to have been geared more to musical excellence and not really for hearing the secrets of others. But pressure from Abuela to be useful must’ve caused her to become more of a “listener of secrets” and not a talented musician.

Antonio could speak with animals so his room is a literal jungle that is full of animals. Isabella's can make plants grow so her room is full of flowers The rooms reflect their gift

Scientifically speaking, Dolores's "gift" would have driven her insane far before the events of the movie happened. I thought that when she said she heard Louisa's eye twitching the "whole night" she meant when they were in Antonio's room celebrating him getting his gift.

Based on the other rooms shown in the movie, her room must've also been a place where she can be herself or be comfortable in, like a place with soothing white noise or calming vibes, an escape from the noise outside Just like Isabela with a beautiful room made of flowers, Antonio with an actual jungle paradise with animals, and Bruno... with lots of sand... with a long flight of stairs... and a cave like space to do his future thingy... No wonder he left

The rooms we've seen seem like they're designed to enhance the ability (or in the case of Bruno, enable it), not suppress it or distract from it...

I have hyperacusis and some noise does cancel it out. i can fall asleep to a playlist and not hear the tavern 2 blocks away.

Dolores is my favorite. Also arbitrary but one clip of her in this video isn’t even her, it’s Camilo. Good theory though. I’d love a second movie that explores their rooms and powers more.
