They only showed the tops of buildings under construction. You see that the article makes a lot of claims about these being absolutely certainly reeducation camps, but the MAJOR ISSUE is, these buildings can be ANYTHING else entirely, from apartment complexes to schools. Within the same article is a google doc which shows what China claims them to be. These go by a variety of names from schools to farms. In short, there isn't a speck of proof to back their claims that these are actually what they claimed them to be.

Please see the correction posted by Al Jazeera. In the full video, the kid did say he loved China after saying he was Chinese. The latter part was cut out and there was a mix up in the subtitles.

In this video, he did NOT say "I love China". The boy first said: Wỏ jiào Muhammad (I am called Muhammad), then the man asked: "Nỉ shì nả guó rén? (You are what country people?), then the boy said: "Wỏ shì Zhong guó rén" (I am China people). So, even the translation in the video was totally wrong.
