Awesome vlog. I really like it when you cover other places in the Philippines that no other vloggers covers. Keep it up my friend. Looking forward to your next vlog.👍🏼❤️
The Weather is Pretty cool up there specially in Tanay you can go hiking not A lot of foreign vloggers visit Tanay. There are Coffee Shops there with spectacular view specially along Marilaque Highway in Sampaloc Tanay.
I’m from Antipolo. Hope you had a good time visiting our humble city. Likewise, thank you for being so warm and nice to the people. More power to your channel! Cheers!
Congratulations! You just witnessed for the first time a filipino style wedding. Fun fact- the grooms top (or majority of what the men were wearing) is called a barong tagalog. And the fans that everybody was using is called an "anahaw" fan made from the anahaw leaves
Mergim, you can't leave the PH without purchasing a "Barong Tagalog" (the formal shirt you saw at the church that the men wore), and a custom made leather formal shoes from a store in Marikina ( shoe capital of the PH ) This basically means you are an honorary Filipino.
Hi Mergim👋 Having goosebumps while watching this vlog especially when you explained about Mama Mary and the construction of the church, thnx for informing us that She's the Black Madonna, and the origin of the name Antipolo. We just used to call her Our Lady of Antipolo. Very informative vlogs, thnx🤗🥰👍tcare, stay safe
Mergim The Mother Mary of Antipolo was called Our Lady of good voyage she was the patron saint of travellers .Also In our earlier years.we use to conduct Pilgrimage there We are coming from Paranaque to Antipolo cathedral by just walking.
Its always fun to do 'alay lakad'. It might be the reason why I am so used to walking and cycling till now. But doing the whole thing from Quiapo to Antipolo is something I'll never do again(perhaps with friends.).
Consider visiting Art Sector Gallery and Chimney Cafe 360, Eastridge Ave, Binangonan, Rizal. Great sunset views over Manila & some interesting art. Haven't seen this location included in any vlogs. This is where I spent my last evening in the Philippines in Feb 2020 with my future wife. A special place for us. Also Regina Rica is well worth a visit. 🇵🇭❤️
when Spain conquered us there was trade between Mexico and Manila, it was a big commerce at that time that even the King of Spain deeclared Manila and Mexico be sister city. It was the galleon trade that brought the image of Our Laqdy andthe Black Nazarene of Quiapo to Man8ila.It wasthe wood used to carve that made both imagesw blac that is one theory the other is that it was based to the skin tones of some mexicans.Bothe images were first installed in Intramuros then they transferred it to Quiapo andAntipolo.
Since u're in the antipolo area, might as well go the number one tourist attraction there which is Masungi Georeserve. Make sure u call them first and make a reservation.
Mergim, try to drive and visit Sumulong highway. There's a lot of restaurant and cafe around the area with overlooking views of the Metro. Make sure you stay until sunset.
Mergim - Dang. I really want to see Art in Antipolo. Anyway, the wedding scene was lovely. Lastly, could it be possible you are being mistaken for Benedict Cumberbatch on his day off?
there's a big part of antipolo called cogeo. it's west of that place you went to. going there, you will find a big big robinson's mall. when you reach cogeo or masinag, there are two big malls, sm masinag and ayala mall. and the last station of lrt2 whcich comes from divisoria area ends in masinag, cogeo, antipolo also.
My hometown ❤️ thank you for visiting. I miss travelling on random days and visiting cafes in Rizal 🛵😊 Let’s ride to Marilaque (Tanay) i’d like to show you around 😊
Did you know that the Lady, Mama Mary comes all the way from Mexico? She's is known here as The Lady of Peace and Good Voyage. Maybe say a little prayer for voyagers like you?
I really love this vlog when you visit Antipolo my birthplace. It's been 9 years since the last time I visit Antipolo. My memory Thier came back when I watch your vlog ty.
Up to this time, some people from Metro Manila, during Holy Week, make a pilgrimage there, by just walking up to Antipolo Cathedral, mostly on the evening of Maundy Thursday reaching the church before midnight. Some people here are already suggesting you go to Masungi Georeserve which I have not been to, and wish you cover it. I believe it is in Baras, another town of Rizal province. Another one is the Daranak falls in Tanay, Rizal which I have been to twice already years/decades ago and totally different now. There are many sites to see in Rizal province.
Good day melgrem, many Pilgrimage all over the country visit antipolo in the month of may, and then going to hinulugan taktak... keep safe and good health 💖 GOD ❤️🙏 BLESS 💓
I only follow few foreign vloggers because of the uniqueness of their content and their dedication on promoting the PH . I'm actually with Mergim already from that sentiment video of going here to PH til now! Congrats for reaching 50k+. You're my idol!!! My mom actually is in the UK but i prefer to stay here in PH☺️ Just like Mergim.:: let's also follow and support Filipino Boo, Dr Laway and Tater's travel which I believe are showing the sincerity of staying here in PH
bro i recently found you and have been binging your vids with family! just here to say love the edits like that 7/11 Starbucks one lol. Idk if you'll go back to Bantayan but they also have a church there and on the northern part of the island there is a fort. Keep up the vids bro and hope to run into one day if I come back on vacation lol
There's actually a bigger mall than Victory Mall (the one you entered to) it's called Robinson's Antipolo and it's just behind the tree you talked about earlier. If you wanna know how big is it, take your local Walmart store, and double the size of it. Maybe even 3 times. That's how big it is. They have 2 movie theaters, a department store, a gaming zone, appliances store, toys r us, they even have Popeyes inside of the mall, which is a pretty rare fast food chain in the Philippines.
Mergim, after the wedding is the reception either done in a hotel or a private venue. You should have attended the wedding, just show the videos you took during the wedding. Lol....you know what, you can be a wedding videographer coz your editing is fantastic
7:26 there's a vlogger too he repairing phones in camera and posting it in TikTok I think he got hundred thousand followers overall thanks for coming in Antipolo where I lived now❤
Just a friendly reminder....It's Filipino / Hispanic tradition to remove head cover (cap/ hat..etc) for men when entering Catholic churches-a sign of respect. 😉
@@waynejensen4224 Maybe he's not aware..but he's not being disrespectful. Many Westerners are polite and respectful, some are not, but Mergim is totally respectful person, well at least from the vlog.
I’m a bit emotional watching the Antipolo Cathedral for it was the last place visited by my 80-year old aunt who passed away last week. It was a family tradition attending mass there at least once a year, and having been locked down in two years, coming up there last summer was her one fervent wish. And, it was wish granted with the parish priest even allowing her to go and see Our Lady up close and personnel in her inner chambers.
MERGIM keep vlog everyday, after 2 years you stay in Philippines, you have lot views, TRY VISIT SUBIC BAY and CLACK FREE PORT, or CLACK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, American base before, BATAAN , MOUNT PINATATOBO,
D black Madonna was brought by Spanish Gov General Juan Nino de Tabora in 1626 fr Mexico n d galleon El Almirante n bcoz of good voyage across d Pacific was called nuestra senora de paz y buenviaje our lady ofvpeace n good voyage. D church was built in 1630 n pilgrims wld walk fr quiapo mla church in Apr May
i've never watched a foreign vlogger do a video on antipolo. you are the first or perhaps the only, i guess. you bring unique content unlike the "usual" places covered by other vloggers. thanks
Yes Antipolo was a sleepy town but not anymore. It has totaly changed! That Cathedral was where I got married too. In Catholic psyche, the Antipolo Cathedral is tops ahahahahaaaa! Filipino Catholicism, brought by the Spanish, honors the blacks. There's the black nazarene in Quiapo church, & the balck madonna in antipolo. I guess it has to do with the fact that Philippines is supposedly 3 types of race mixed up as time went by, the Chinese, Indo-Malay & Negrito. And way before Spain arrived, the Moro or Arab race were already here in the southernmost region, Mindanao. The Hindu or "Bombay" as called in Philippines, were said to have arrived by way of British ships that tried getting a piece of the continent in Easternmost Asia but some say that they've somehow reached by way of Indo - Malaysian peninsula. Enjoy Pinto Museum - Gallery, its realy a nice place.
