I honestly think your so brave to share you bladder issues, I know it takes a lot of courage to do so! especially on a platform like youtube so well done beautiful. Amy Lee Fisher thank you! It depends on how my heart rate is afterwards and whether I’ll need to be catheterised, but if all goes well it’ll be a really short stay! Have you had anything at all done to help your urinary retention other than just using catheters? And I have no idea if I’ll be vlogging it but I’ll at least be doing updates and stories on my insta ☺️ & thank you so much! I don’t think I would’ve felt comfortable enough to share it if it wasn’t for you and all you do ☺️💕
When I was in hospital, I brought baby wipes which were a life saver as if you aren't feeling well enough to shower or just feel a bit gross, they're super convenient! Also bring your own pillow if you have space as well because the hospital ones are super thin and uncomfortable!
Mary Phillips thank you Mary! That’s a good idea! I’ve had a lot of nights in hospital before (that wasn’t due to surgeries) so I know what you mean about the pillows! I usually put a jumper under it to raise it up a but but hadn’t considered bringing one from home! I think I’m going to do that this time though 😊
I normally watch your videos, I have autonomic testing for 3 days coming up (I'm very nervous) and will be staying in a hotel, I did a quick search online for chronic illness and hospital bag and your video popped up. There were a few things here that I hadn't thought of which will be very useful! I really appreciate your videos thank you for making them.
I’ve only had one surgery, a laparoscopy for endometriosis so you go home the same day and GA was fine for me! My throat felt a little sore after from the tube but overall the surgery was much easier for me than getting my wisdom teeth out. Hoping your surgery goes smoothly and you recover quickly!

General anaesthetic is often okay for most people, if you are having it intravenously you’ll likely have less side effects than if you were to have it in gas form as that can make people vomit once they come round, I was under GA for my heart surgery and had it intravenously, I was fine after just a little dehydrated because it had been quite a few hours since I had last had anything to drink by the time I came round, I hope this helps, that everything goes okay and they can find the cause of your tubey problem (aside from what they already know) 💕
Note pad n paper coz when they say stuff its hard to remember n also somewhere to write questions to ask them later on. polos or similar for the dry mouth sore throat that environment can bring. I'm with you on the sicky thing. hearing it, seeing it smelling it and i'll add to it. so yeah. a touch of vaseline on your nostrils can help keep smells out and I go with mp3 n headphones rather than ear defenders but whatever makes it easier for u eh
Billie's Craft Room they’re all really good ideas! Never heard of the Vaseline tip before! And I use headphones too aha, but the ear defenders go over the top if there’s someone on my word actually being sick 🙈 I just can’t stand it 🙈

hello, I hope your surgery went well! I will have minor surgery in September so it was useful, I will keep your video for future reference :) I definitely prefer to bring too much rather than forget something. I hope you didn't have to stay too long and that you're already feeling better. I hope GA went well for you, I had it twice and it went well, I didn't feel sick or anything. But I still elected to have local anesthesia in September, I think it's less scary for me personally and they asked so, local it is!
