I would have liked this job too... the robots/pods come to you and you have a small slide ladder to climb up for the higher items.. I see you have a step stool... I guess every warehouse is different.... I never got the picker position.. this seems like a separate floor altogether and not noisy...
I'm the opposite, as in I'd prefer to transfer to a robotic FC if I could move. When you get batches that make you walk to the opposite end of pick, just to grab one item then back again, doing the same for hours, you'll kind of wish for those robots back.
You would not love to do this after 8+hours of walking, going up to level 5 for one item, then back to level 1 for the next 10 items kinda deal. Robots coming to me would literally save so much physical exhaustion.
Man this sucked. Stowing was so much easier. They forced me to train for pick and I almost quit. Stowers always get in your way, it’s way harder to make rate as pick is pushed harder than other jobs
Man I wish our traditional walking floor was like this with smaller items. The warehouse I'm at right now will have you lift 50lb items over your head on a shelf just to pick them 😐
@@YoungShyne123 that's why I used my swag bucks to get a beanie hat and I hid my airpods in the beanie hat. Either way, so many people I’ve seen had earphones in without hiding them. Managers probably don’t care
@robertwhite8559 the scanner will actually switch floors and zones on you..I do this...and my scanner will switch floors on 4 times a night...it's very annoying
Pickers are definitely not that slow in my warehouse it would be a lot safer if they were the ones where I work haul ass everywhere and don't look where they're going they hit people with the pick carts everyday.
On the bright side you don’t have to report to anyone to see what picking station you’re going to …just get a scanner, sign in and off you go , nobody bugs you no one to report to
i started at a non robotic facility a week ago and i like it but the walking is whats alot. it starts to wear on you. on the bright side its more freedom.. you hardly see people my shift so it goes by fast staying so active.
I remember this. Was running (im a fit 100lbs female) and still they were saying I wasn't fast enough to make rate. I told them I was dyslexic so they wouldn't keep writing me up for being slow
now my is How many products will it scan per hour at that speed? I almost run everywhere to be able to scan more than 100 products per hour and I don't even go over 80/40 products per hour 😭
Yes, your pretty much timed for both departments. For picker, after 5 minutes of not scanning an item it would be considered TOT (time off task). For packer I believe it's also five minutes per item (I'm not so sure). But picking it's a lot walking depending the warehouse you would work at, while packer your just at one station all day.
It really depends on what you like more staying or walking, for me it's the second option cause when im walking, mostly "slow running" :) it depends on my mood,it kinda feels that time goes faster, and one more hint stop looking at the clock on the device all the time ✌️ 😁 and buy a neck warmer ,put it on your ears instead of a simple mask just to hide the headphone that you're listening to😉🤘
Too much stressful Job I did 6 months In dubai DXB3 Everyone are good nice staff but too much pressure I face as a picker very hard work all the running and running😁Lol
I did this at a different company & it wasn't bad at all the pay just was s*. Ppl are lazy & complainers lol I'd love to do my same role just for Amazon or better, pay.
I've seen people write "I f_cked a b_tch in the parking lot", lots of phone numbers, random curse words or suicide notes, and lots of anime hentai stickers placed all over
I can say I would do sorting before pick. Pick seems to be boring . I sort, pack, tote wrangle. I'm an ambassador in all three. Soon ill be going to pick and the dock..
