Your work on fonts, shapes and surface effects are positive evolutions, but many of the "customized" UI designs you show, especially as it concerns colour palettes, feel like a serious downgrade. In may regards, making a framework more flexible also brings about a deterioration of UI consistency. Be careful as you head down that path. Finally, the industry is still struggling with the differentiation between UI and UX, and while MD has historically brought a fairly consistent approach to UI, it is generally conceived as a conservative construction set of widgets and interaction states. This in itself is not a problem, but I would suggest Google invested a bit more in producing structurally-significant advances in user interaction concepts, as opposed to the chrome.
Please let us choose the color. It grabs the wrong color in the auto theming. I have wallpapers I can't use now because the color it chooses is not correct.
Dark themes support my read , develop option where I switch on override Force- dark,it doesn't work, always switch off itself or I might be lacking skill when it happens also down mood 💪 as a result please guide me in the advanced method and apply everywhere. Great thank 😢
This is taking the complexity a little too far. How we end up educating and equipping the product designers and developers in the short term to handle motion and other aspects is going to decide how quickly this be adopted. Not to mention that many screens looks downright ugly and unproportional. Spending enough time to refine them and provide a solid template to build upon could be a good thing to focus on for the next two months or so
As a person who designs and implements UI on a daily basis these developments are both exciting and intimidating and I hope there will be enough guidance from the material team to get us and our apps to amazing.

Always this "change the world" talking. Only thing that would change the world is forcing OEMs to provide 5 years of updates. This only changes the colors of buttons in the hands of rich western people able to afford a brand new flagship phone.
5 years? Stop asking for only 5 years. Companies should at least let the users unlock the phone's boot loader, Flash a Custom rom and then relock the bootloader. The phone's are immediately obsolete when the support ends otherwise.

Dislike... Have the beta, and it's way too rounded. Notifications have much more rounded corners and padding, so much less text fits without expanding. (they whole purpose of the notification to begin with)
Material Google is all about brand consistency. There is no user choice. Usability is poor. No consideration for dyslexia with that awful lockscreen clock. Theme colour choices are limited and don't work with most of my backgrounds. Please just give users the choice to use white as an accent colour. Let us use the normal lockscreen clock. You've added stress to my user experience where there was none before updating.
