Anyone know a good resource for basic setup info? I am new to multi-channel audio and I'm not quite sure how to monitor in 5.0.(specifically Dolby Atmos integrated into protools)

Hi Pat have you noticed the difference in volume levels between Music by major artists on Apple music and non major artists ? I have noticed that my tracks which were -18luf coming back through from apple music into my system -18LUF But i have seen major artists coming through at upto -13luf in volume :( Is the playing field really level ?

For sure some louder mixes might go through, intentionally or not. For sure you have no guarantee that a song over the -18dB spec won't get rejected. For sure, as the pigs so eloquently put it in George Orwell's Animal Farm: "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others." Which really is how business works, everywhere, always, every time . . . 😎

This new v5.0 Dolby Atmos Renderer does not look the same in one that comes with Cubase 13 Pro. Is it necessary to purchase this v5.0 software to use the latest Dolby Atmos Renderer in Cubase Pro 13?

This is the stand-alone Dolby Atmos Renderer and not the integrated one as in Cubase, Logic, etc. which are all different implementations in DAWs. Functionality defers a bit between all of them anyway but the back end is practically the same and as Dolby pushes updates, so would the DAW manufacturers. Only thing is you won't know until they tell you (usually in the Release Notes of an update) and they might not always "use" all updated parts (depends on their integration--for example Logic Pro did not have Trim & Downmix settings for a looooong time!!)

I stopped using size completely. Way too many random phase issues.

Yup. Same here. But I want to!!! Hahaha! In my mind looks so good! Just doesn't translate the same way (yet???!!!). Plus all the issues. But maybe this will fix it. Testing it out over the next few projects. Thanks for watching!
