my choice as well -- watched his interview and was blown away by his attitude and his highlight tape........he is a legacy player and really wants to be here@@CommanderBacon4
@CornCrazed Watch some Preston Tamua highlights. Keep in mind that while it's high school he's playing against a lot of other big Pacific islanders. He's got an entertaining habit of blocking DLs by just knocking them flat on their ass.
This is this the Best class Nebraska has had in a long time. Definitely wished Chubba would have stayed. Very excited for next year. I hope Heinrich helps our Qb and also hope Thompson is a GA and can help our Qbs develop. Merry Christmas
so many good takes I had to watch this three times to make sure I could take in everything ( then again, only my ex-wife said i was quick on the draw ). First and foremost I would like to add my best wishes to Chubba, Purdy to the many, many Husker fans who, though disappointed he's leaving, understand why he's doing so and feel as I do that he was dealt a bad hand by Whipple but never complained and kept working - Good Luck Chubba and remember ........ once a Husker you are a member of my family forever.
One I just found out about that maybe is under the radar: Kamdyn Koch. His dad Sam is, of course a Husker legend, but he's also one of the best and most innovative punters in NFL history. Assuming his dad has taught him, we've probably just picked up a hell of a punter. Is he the one I'm most excited to see, but that signing is a big deal in my eyes.
Love the positivity this recruiting class is bringing to the Huskers. I am really impressed with this class and look forward to how the coaches develop them.
I was always a HUGE fan of Casey. I would be so stoked if he came back for one more run and to show Dylan how its done. I need to see what these recievers are like with a REAL QB throwing them the ball.
I still like your optimism, I just can’t see any more than six wins next year. I was hoping Chubba would stick around, but understand his logic. When he can land and maybe start for two years instead of maybe half a season at NU. The qb room needs like a senior transfer that has his eye on coaching to come in. Stabilize the room to move forward
At this point, there is a lot to be happy about. All the big names. But!! I think Blye Hill coming in and being that shut down corner is huge. Standing back and looking overall, you can begin to see Matt Rhules vision of what Nebraska will look like. The vision is talent everywhere 2-3 deep. GBR ☠️☠️☠️☠️
I hope that Casey *hompson ( notice no "T" because there is no "team" in that young man - went back and watched replay of his spring game performance and saw that only 1:42 after he came out of the game he was interviewed on the sideline by Jessica Cooty and he already knew HIS stats and spewed then out proudly while never saying the word "team" at all -- in 11 press conferences he uttered "team" only twice ) . Casey may very well be a good coach someday because he is Uber smart.............so, as a G/A or maybe a QB wisperer guy O K, but as a player he's sorely lacking.
I'm most excited to see Quinn Clark and his potential. I played with some of his family and they were extraordinary athletes. I'm excited to see what he can do.
Some names from the portal to consider .. QB Matt Sluka, QB Dylan Morris, OT Luke Newton, OG Joshua Miller [Univ Georgia], WR Mario Williams, WR Cameron Camper
You’re correct. Dylan Rogers is still a Husker and playing football. It burns my grits when people spread wrong information. Look out for Dylan Rogers, he’s coming.
YoOoooo this recruiting class really shows us what Matt rule and his team bring to the table. I am over the moon excited about this team, and I have not been this excited about Nebraska football since Bo Pelini was coaching. I feel like the winds of change have arrived, and I feel like we finally hit a homer with Matt rule as our head coach. They don’t have to turn it around in one year and what I mean is we don’t have to win X amount of games I think this recruiting class right here shows us what is coming for us in the future. We have a bunch of skilled and talented young men coming to play for Matt rule and for the university of Nebraska it’s amazing. I’m just super excited. There’s no way we cannot be better just with the talent. We have on the roster right now. This is super exciting. I’m drinking the Kool-Aid man I’m all in, I’ve always bled Nebraska red born and raised here but it just feels different. It feels like we’re back baby you know what I’m saying.GBR
Honestly, NOT making a Bowl Game this year was the best thing that could have happened to the Matt Rhule & his staff! Immediately when the season was done, Matt was able to focus 100% of his time on recruiting AND obviously it's paid huge dividends! He was also able to restructure some of the Assistant Coaches contracts! It was the perfect year to NOT make a BG and focus 100% on 2024!
Truth is, every QB wants to be #1. Yet, every team needs 3-4 QBs. At least 75% of all QBs cannot start. Something has to give. Let's take a snapshot now. Rhule and the staff have done an incredible job recruiting and being open to what the team needs and the vision. We don't get to look back 8 games in next season to blame it on Rhule's recruiting. Here and now for all of what we see and know and what Rhule is doing, it's on spot. Hindsight is 20/20 - but we don't get to hold that against all of what everyone knows here and now.
I hope they pick up a few "now" players. My biggest fear with riaola starting is something like what happened to AM and that delrailing his development.
10:03 our schedule next year starts off mid. But our last like 5-6 games are going to be where real men will be revealed. I think we could still get 10 wins. We didn’t downgrade at any position in my opinion.
I was also a big fan of Casey Thompson. Is it realistic to expect him to come back as a chair warmer? I don’t know, but Connor, you threw out the idea of Casey as a G.A. and I think that would be outstanding! What about Adrian Martinez to help the young QBs; he’s already working for Trev in the Athletic Department. His time as starting QB for the Huskers was less-than-successful, but he does have lots of experience as a P5 starting QB. As always, great job of digging deep, Connor. Merry Christmas
If Thompson comes back it would be great, if not the Huskers definitely need a QB coach. When Osborne got Gill to come as QB coach it made a huge difference. I am excited to see Carter Nelson and the two receivers from Bellevue West but also very interested to see O Line development
Conner, you said Dylan Rogers is out. So we lost Eric Fields and Dylan Rogers and only recruited 2 LB’s? I have not read anywhere that says Dylan Rogers is gone.
It's gonna be Danny Kaelin who pushes Raiola, Kaelin is the only QB who could have found a spot elsewhere but chose to step into the ring with Raiola, he's not going to back down knowing he's only got 1 man to beat
Last season we were young, this season outside of qb/wr we’re actually old which means we can get to a 10 win season. Agree need a vet qb/wr and one more rb and this team has a good chance. We’ll lose a lot of players after the 24, we need to land whales next recruiting class as we’re deep from last year and this years class
as does both 247 sports and the collective rankings............ON3 is rarely in tune with most everyone else and their content is questionable for me, anyway
So NEB out recruits at least in rankings teams like Iowa, KSU, Washington, Wisconsin ect but always have a worse record/ season than all of the teams. Why is that?
Purdy will be fine somewhere else. Having DK is going to help with QB battle. But I think raiola is still above what we’ve had. I think Dylan is a guy we can throw to the fire right away. Even if he messes up it can’t be any worse than last seasons QB play.
The scuttlebutt is yes, we are, but not officially until spring, which it seems would seem to cleverly exploit a loophole in NCAA rules. I might be wrong, but I think that if a coach isn't YET on the coaching staff, he can work with the players (QBs in this case) as much as they want. "working out on your own time" or something like that. Once he's on the athletic department payroll, it's different.
For me, recruiting is only important if the players execute. The hype of who got the best means nothing. Scott Frost had the number 1 recruiting class and went 4-8.
8 wins is kind of a wild thought. I'm thinking 6 and Dylan is hailed a hero, we probably start the season 5-2 or 6-1, losing to colorado and Rutgers. Then the rest will be a battle for 6 wins. I wanna hope for 8 or 9 but us as fans love to get our hopes up to be pissed it didnt happen. Gotta give Dylan time his year 2 and 3 will be hell of a schedule but he will be matured enough for me to say playoff contender.
I just consider this year and what players return. I think 6 is the minimum (last year the minimum was 5 and it took EVERYTHING to go wrong to hit that lol) I really think 6 would mean they had a really rough season with a ton going wrong like we saw this first time around
Out here in CO all we hear is Prime and his circus! Nebraska has to stomp CU. I agree 6 losses would mean shit goes south but this team has the talent to win 9 games! Haven't been this excited since literally 2000 w Crouch. Thanks for your hard work and great content. You give a lot of us great insight and hope for the future!
It's a rough statement. Are guys who transfer to Nebraska full of beta energy? Is DR beta energy because in previous videos there was talk about Georgia bringing in 5* qb every year?
@@CornCrazed Thats good cause I thought you were possibly breaking news that Dylan Roger's was leaving and that concerned me because we didn't really see anything of Roger's or Fields last year and so thought it was possible Roger's was also gone.
