Finally someone who doesn't spread misinformation on RU-vid about the fried video ports issue! First plug power then video, and viceversa for unplugging! So many people sending their devices for repair saying they thought to do the right thing while doing the wrong one, just because they heard random stuff on RU-vid!
@CVP I've been using a Vaxis storm 1000+ 1:4 kit for 5 years now and it's been bulletproof. Reliability and range is incredible however image compression has some banding in brighter scenes. Everytime I've used teradek it's been an absolute nightmare. Bladerunner: 2049 also used teradek and had interference which made wireless un-useable for 4 months. Thanks for giving Vaxis the shoutout they deserve.
It is such a pity there are no affordable low latency transmission systems with SDI. Sub 1000$ systems like Acsoon, Vaxis Atom or Hollyland Mars all are pretty average in terms of latency, but then the next best thing starts at 3000$ (Vaxis 1000s, Teradek Bolt 750). I wonder if getting Teradek Ace 500 and a BM SDI to HDMI converter could do the trick for the limited budget needs? Or is there a better solution?
Soooo… Which wireless transmitter do recommend for focus pulling with the lowest possible price but still is reliable? maybe the Teradek Ace 500 or maybe a model feom Vaxis? Thanks
It's a bit confusing to me that nobody really talks about the Swit Flow system... It's supposed to have near zero-latency as well and is much more affordable than a Teradek. I wonder if there's any catch.
I've got such a Love-hate relationship with Teradek modules. They make it possible to get the job done, which otherwise would be way harder, but I can't tell them reliable; there were so many times that they lost pair or signal in short distances and halting the shooting for the troubleshooting is always a time wasted.
Own 2 units 1000ft, love it and ranges are more than advertised- older units had sdi in on tx temporarily fail from cold weather. Each can also cross convert ie- sdi in on tx, hdmi out on rx, other than a cable switch, constant connect
Can you please talk a little about the Boxx Atom-kit, for me it's allways been the most reliable feed but the company who makes them seems not to be realeseing any new fetures or products. It's a mystery.
Very interested in a video about the whole vaxis storm line up! I’m pretty tempted to buy the 3000 DV but there’s no videos online showing the pros and cons of the new transmitter vs the regular vaxis 3000. It would be great to see the feature sets of the storm 800 all the at up to the 3000!
Vaxis Storm 3000, please dive in. Not enough info out there with the level of clarity you all could deliver. Regardless, thanks for this video. Really connected some dots for me.
Review the Anton Bauer wireless tx/rx they send mostly anyone who gives them a credit card for deposit a review test unit. I reviewed it for 4 months before they needed it back. Blows all your suggestions to the wind. Check it out
Probably a dumb question, but I'm in the market to buy some wireless transmitter / receiver combo for my A7S3. Can my camera still record in all of it's modes (4k 120fps for example) onto the memory cards while using a 1080p monitor? Or do you have to match the camera resolution / framerate to the monitor you're using?
Different monitors will have different delays. Using SDI throughout your whole chain will be the best way to reduce latency as much as possible. HDMI will add latency. Jake
Hi Jake : unrelated question : I want to buy the official Zeiss lens Gear ring for milvus 50mm MACRO F2 and Milvus 85mm F1.4 . They sell on different sizes as mini, small , medium and large. Any idea how I can figure out what gear size I need for those two lenses?
While I have the budget for a 750LT/Storm 3000, I would it make sense to get the 750 over the ACE 500? I feel that buying the 750 will future proof me rather than be limited to my current set up. (fx3-> ninja v-> wireless video)
Very informative, thanks! Sorry for off top, but what’s better for mft dzo10-24 and 20-70 or set of meike lenses? Interesting to know your own experience and impressions :)
Great Teradek commercial. It’s a shame you didn’t mention the issues faced in the real world with the Teradeks… which learned the hard way trying out different ones from the range. Vaxis is so reliable and has been giving us piece of kind…
