Not remotely what he said. But likely you don’t surf, or do any Ocean related sports. You have no clue If you’re just starting out. Everyone’s “better” than you. So it’s a redundant take on what he said. however ,there are places you can go practice where other people are also just learning. Either way - whether you know where those places are or not. You learn really fast where you don’t belong. Everything has a way of balancing itself. Surf lineups are very much like local basketball courts. There are the places where the advanced/Intermediate Hoopers play, and when they gather the “newb” doesn’t just jump out on the court and start lobbing free throws. Everything regulates itself
The real kookiest thing a surfer can do is hate on someone for being a beginner. Been out there with these HB locals and as an advanced surfer myself, they find every reason to get pissed at you even when they’re in the wrong

@@Radxcor83 I feel you.. just give it a shot. take out a 7'6 midlength. Feel the stability, wave count. Early entry. Not hung up on the lip. They do turn as well. Might change your whole outlook on boards. Been surfing for 35 years , since I was 10 years old. I can't get off my midlength now.

The guy trying to impress the girls running down to the beach with a short board on is head fins down. Then throws it only to get the fins in the back of the head and collapses bleeding. Cookiest thing I have ever seen.
Kookiest thing is the guy who is convinced they rip but just look like a complete disaster. Then paddle out to the inside and vibe everyone. You want to be like “bro you fully suck are you out of your mind delusional ??”
