But they literally said at the end they LIKED being scared, Luna just misunderstood it a bit until she embraced the scare and Pinkie Pie is always terrible at communicating but apparently so is Luna, it was all a misunderstanding that was resolved quickly. Although if any Pony deserves to be mentioned for the worst thing a protagonist has done, I'd look at Rainbow Dash for sure.

To be fair to the Rudolph movie, Santa and the others repent and change their attitudes towards Rudolph before they find out they need his help. Obscure old stop motion cartoon from when I was a kid-- Bump In The Night. I was seven or so years old and stuck with a HIGHLY abusive "single adult woman". Being fairly autistic I was also highly abused and neglected at school. Earlyish nineties, basically had no repreive ANYWHERE. Discover this show-- monsters and weird creatures and toys and bugs go around on adventures in a live action family's house while they sleep at night-- one guy lives in the toilet, another under a filthy bed, there's a pissed off, roaring pile of dirty clothes in a closet that pulls characters in and eats them-- it felt like some surrealist actual extension of the world I really lived in. But there was one character. This cute, sweet little rag doll. Other than being made of weird, mismatched parts due to the rough use she saw-- I related to both situations immediately-- she was warm, nurturing, soft spoken, intelligent-- and most importantly she saw it as basically her life's very calling to comfort and protect anyone who needed it-- to the point of actually mailing away to become a doctor in one episode-- it was her ENTIRE CHARACTER pretty much. Well for obvious reasons, I was in love! Come most of the way into the first season, she suddenly pulled a complete 180 in one random episode, literally CRYING about how she felt used and abused and was tired of her life and wanted more control-- blah-blah, you get the point. Her kid had torn her arm off, and rather than wait for it to be repaired, she replaces it with something bigger and stronger. This leads her to become addicted to the feeling, which leads her to quite literally go mad and turn herself into a giant, hideous, evil monster with a staple remover for a head. She tries to steal HER OWN BEST FRIEND'S HEAD before finding it, AND THROWS HER OLD ONE AT HIM!! They do the "ship of thesius" thing, her original parts are reassembled, and she (in her own normal, dignified way) tells the monster to go fuck itself. Thing is though? After that episode the character was NEVER herself again. It was as if the monster were wearing her normal form, always JUST beneath the surface. She became a snarky, more angry, bitchy little harpy who never stood up for her friends, was always belittling and yelling at people, in one episode calling for one to literally be KILLED over something they hadn't even done-- AND NEVER ACTUALLY EVEN APOLOGIZING BY THE END! The show got two seasons, and whatever she had become wore her old original character like a thin mask all through the rest of it. I literally fell into an actual, deep depresion after that-- not BECAUSE of it, but it was more of a last straw. That depression never really DID ever leave me, and I've never felt for ANYONE as deeply as I once did for her. If I forgot to mention it, her name was Molly Coddle-- and she was a young, suffering child's first real love and possibly worst betrayal.

Riley nearly went through a total emotional crisis because Joy completely disregarded and repressed sadness. And tried to make everything happy (basically about her only) And while it's good to be optimistic, you need to feel other emotions. Maybe not as much of a jerk, but most definitely annoying. Also not a kids show, but some fictional character that I crushed on before realizing her severe problems was Loona from helluva boss (NOT a kids show but I watched it when I was younger) she is cute and a total badass, but also lazy and an alcoholic. She does have trauma, but the alcoholism really turned me off. And the fact that she acted like a total jerk to all of the characters. In Thomas, Henry deliberately came to a stop in a tunnel, while pulling a load of coaches, because he didnt want to get his brand new paint wet. Its the equivalent of blocking a doorway in a buisness office because its raining outside and he refused to move until the rain would stop, thus causing problems and delays. His vanity was the problem.
@erickpoorbaugh6728
@erickpoorbaugh6728 11 месяцев назад
Also, he refused to move even after the rain stopped because he was afraid it might start again. In other words, he made it clear that he was never going to leave the tunnel. The tunnel was only bricked up to keep other trains from entering it and running into him. Finally, he was let out shortly thereafter. Now, Smudger, on the other hand-he wouldn’t listen and was turned into a generator, and the train who told this to the others, supposedly a very heroic and beloved (in-universe) character, seemed positively proud to say Smudger would “never move again.” The whole context of the story-within-a-story was basically an older train saying, “You young folk had better listen to me because look at what happened to the last guy who didn’t,” but acting happy that someone suffered such a horrible fate just because it boosts your pride is not a heroic trait.

I agree with you there. The Sad Story of Henry was written by Wilbert Awdry as way of teaching children that all actions have consequences. Plus, Sir Topham Hatt (a.k.a The Fat Controller) reprimands the other engines if they misbehave as well, along with making sure that George the steamroller and Cranky the crane are also reprimanded for being careless and potentially damaging (hurting) the engines. Plus, he knows when he's made a mistake and understands that some of the accidents they have occur through no fault of their own (e.g., Duck colliding with the back of the Flying Kipper due to the tail lamp not being secured properly and James crashing into a field due his old wooden brake blocks catching fire, rendering them useless). So, I agree that he should be given a break; he's only human and running a railway isn't always easy at the best of times.

Not sure if it counts since he wasn't the protagonist at that point, but in The Legend of Korra we learn that Aang neglected Bumi and Kaya in favor of Tenzin because he was an Airbender, teaching him everything about the Air Nomads and taking him on trips to sacred locations that he didn't even bring his other children along for, and it was all basically with the motive of not letting his old culture die out. This also causes Tenzin's siblings to hold a grudge against him that isn't resolved until they're all middle-aged adults. Doing another comment because I just remembered Darius from Sing 2. He's a self-centered, arrogant dude who's paired up with the shy Meena to sing a romantic duet in the musical the Moon Theatre troupe is planning. Meena is told she has to kiss him for the number (most likely her first kiss) and she's obviously very uncomfortable, not being attracted to Darius and just not getting along with him in general. Darius tries to give her advice, but it falls flat and is along the lines of "I'm so handsome, anyone would wanna kiss me" and "Oh, it's easy, just go with the moment and don't worry so much". Meena tries to tell Buster she wants a different duet partner, but never quite works up the courage. When it's time for the performance, she ends up imagining her actual crush (an elephant ice-cream delievery guy named Alfonso) in place of Darius and ends up going through with the kiss. This is treated as a victory by the movie. Darius gets to go along on the musical tour as a permanent member of the cast, Meena becomes okay with him (on friendly terms) and presumably still kisses him every performance. Played completely straight. The one saving grace is that Meena gets her crush's number and they are seen video-calling each other on the tour bus, so they seem to be in a long-distance relationship. Overall, Sing 2 is an awesome movie, I definitely recommend it, but Meena girl, you deserve better than jerkfaced Darius in your life. Kick 'im off the curb.

For Rudolph to be fair the song doesn’t mention Santa looking down on him he even offers Rudolph a job for his weird bioluminescence it’s only the reindeer that mistreat him so idk why the Christmas special included Santa being a jerk
@Unicornucopia3
@Unicornucopia3 11 месяцев назад
Although Santa could have handled the situation a lot better than he did in the film, I don’t think he was telling Donner he should be ashamed of his son’s condition. Donner had lied to everyone by covering Rudolph’s nose and pretending he had grown out of it. Santa was calling him out on his deception. It was Donner’s selfish pride that set his son up to bullied by the other reindeer. At this point in the story Santa was grumpy and short with everyone (including Mrs. Clause and the elves) because he was stressed about the piling preparations for Christmas. As the story progresses though, he realizes he had been too harsh and becomes more gentle like the Jolly Old St. Nick everyone loves. In the scene when Rudolph tells Santa about the Misfit Toys the narrator mentions how he and the boss elf realized they had treated the misfits in their lives poorly. Therefore, Santa likely already apologized to Rudolph personally before asking for his help. TLDR Santa is less of a jerk exploiting misfits whenever it benefits himself and more like a unintentionally insensitive boss.

Patrick is 1000x worse than SpongeBob, as he only ever looks out for himself, he breaks laws and gets his friends framed, and will blame anyone but himself, yet everyone in the town except for SpongeBob, Squidward and occasionally Mr Krabs sides with him. Some of his worst moments is when he forces SpongeBob to pay for a toy, refuses to let him play with it, destroys the toy, and then expects SpongeBob to pay for another toy. While more the towns fault, there’s the time when SpongeBob gets stuck in a wringing machine, and Patrick, to his credit trying to help, puts super glue on the machine. He then takes SpongeBob to the fair, where he gets horribly injured, and when SpongeBob eventually calls Patrick out for his shitty actions, the town calls SpongeBob the asshole. He gets his licence by being the 1000th visitor to boating school, and proceeds to break multiple laws which get SpongeBob sent to prison. And it’s not just SpongeBob he dicks over. He screws squidward over multiple times and relentlessly bullies sandy. The only person who gets anywhere close to Patrick’s level of jerkiness is Mr Krabs. He worked with plankton for the simple fact that they were friends, but as soon as he saw the amount of money to be earned, he stabbed him in the back, and refused to credit him for the creation of the Krabby Patty, something plankton created about 80% of, with Krabs only accidentally discovering the other ingredients that made it better.

When you think about it, a lot of good guys do some pretty fucked up things. Example; Professor Utonium. Mojo-Jojo was even MORE his fault than the girls were. He was entrusting a Chimp; literally most aggressive primate on the planet to; a) Work as a lab assistant (prior AND after being mutated) b) NOT get peeved when he had no-one to interact with (Chimps are social animals and have a sense of isolation) c) When he DOES get 'siblings' and grows sentience, the Professor plays favorites. Chimps already have complex emotions as well; One of them happens to be Jealousy. So, all this time, if the Professor just read up on/ went to a Zoologist (because chimps can't integrate into any troops at random) the girls' arch nemesis would be dealt with. Mojo Jojo has proven he can make Earth a literal utopia.

To explain: The girls fell asleep in school, so the professor institutes a bed time. Naturally, all the villains take advantage of the girls not being allowed to stop them and go on a rampage. The Professor finally lets the girls go be heroes, not because he realizes that saving lives is more important than kindergarten, but because he never set the clocks back for daylight savings, meaning the girls have an extra hour to save the day. The fact that this won't stop the villains from causing chaos an hour later the next night is completely ignored.

The Jedi Council during the Clone Wars. They willingly let the government they work with put a 15-16 year-old on trial for a crime she couldn't have committed because she was on a completely different planet when said crime happened. This same child was almost given the death sentence if it wasn't for her teacher/old brother finding the actual culprit who was the her best friend. Afterward, they didn't even give her a proper apology and just said it was her great trial to be a Jedi Knight. They then had the audacity to be surprised when the she refused to rejoin the order they kicked her out of, the same order she had lived in since she was 3 years old, all because "The Republic said to". Is it any wonder Anakin betrayed them?

She's unable to speak in his presence but knows everything about him and has pictures on every surface of her room, and they literally make full on plans with fake no-parking signs that gets Adrien's driver ticketed unfairly just so she can talk to him. Also Chat Noir's jealousy and stubbornness gets multiple people akumatised (turned evil by the villain via their negative emotions), and in general the main characters cause quite a lot of akumatisations for being heroes.

Penny Proud and her friends (save for Zoe) in The Proud Family Louder and Prouder. If you know, you know. If you don’t, I’m talking about the episode where they all gang up on Zoe for wanting to go to the school dance with a guy whom they think is colorist. Worse yet, this is something they blindly believe based on a bunch of baseless claims from secondhand sources. So really, it seems more like they’re just jealous of their friend and they think they’re more deserving of the guy because they think they’re all more attractive than her. What’s even worse is that while three out of the four apologize to Zoe at the end of the episode and admit that they were mean the fourth one, Maya, says something like “This is why us girls gotta stick together!” Uh, excuse me?! Were you not one of the girls who convinced Penny to turn against Zoe for the crime of wanting to go to a dance with a celebrity whom she thought was attractive?! Anyway, he expressed how sorry he felt especially to his mom who was eventually raising him by herself and worried her to no end, and finally one day he says he decided to turn it around after she died and he was still in jail. He literally says he was so sorry to not be able to tell her how much he changed, remember this. So to the actual story now, he says he saw some little poo of a kid stomping his neighbor's flowers. A neighbor who had been taking care of his sick mom before she passed away. And then I BS you not, he described how he caught the kid, took him to his basement, and Torch-ured him!!! #16...in the new "Dragon Ball Super" manga, when fighting a "chi" eating monster named Moro, who LITERALLY sucked the life out of every single person on MULTIPLE planets, Goku makes the EXACT SAME mistake he made with Cell, giving him a Senzu bean that heals him, WITHOUT first eating one HIMSELF, just in case Moro betrayed him, AGAIN. this mistake nearly results in Moro destroying the ENTIRE GALAXY, and only an unexpected boost from "Uub" (Majin Buu reincarnated) enables Goku to FINALLY finish Moro off. here's a discussion of the entire story: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fhw30dtimmI.html #28 reminds me of a fan-story where Dumbledore didn't KNOW just HOW abusive Harry's Aunt and Uncle were, he had some magical devices that were supposed to monitor Harry's health, happiness, etc, BUT didn't realize that his OWN protective spells intended to prevent evil wizards from spying on Harry, were blocking those devices! AND his "anti-muggle charm" on their house prevented their "squib" neighbor from noticing either! right at the beginning of the story, Harry literally stumbles into a portal to another world, and the strange people there take him in, and officially ADOPT him! to his credit, (at least in that story) when Dumbledore learns the truth, he apologises to Harry, and removes that anti-Muggle charm, which leads to the Dursleys winding up in prison for their treatment of Harry! AND, i've always thought it was absurdly stupid to forbid Jedi from getting married. seriously, WHERE do they think the NEXT generation of Jedi are going to come from? Force talent IS hereditary, isn't it? reminds me of another fan-story, where someone told a computer to print out a list of all the Jedi who had defied the ban on marriage, and there we SO many that the printer ran out of paper!

When Harry is adopted by loving parents, the readouts start going over happy and healthy because he's actually being cared for, confusing Dumbledore enough to check up on him. Some students from one of the school houses basically just stopped Voldemort from returning, which only almost happened because the faculty screwed up and didn't notice Quirrel was compromised. I think it's fair at that point to just say "yeah, they get the house cup for that." I think he only announced it in the way that he did to cut Neville a break and set it up so his actions would be seen as heroic and not, y'know... almost stopping the people who kept Voldemort from coming back. I vaguely recall somewhere that the movie was going to have the standard fairytale happy ending of the parents getting back together, but Robin Williams got them to make it more realistic and be a story about accepting that things are permanently changed and that parents that split can at least be civil with each other for their children's sake.

Greg from steven universe. He is the protagonist's, steven's dad. For a little backstory on him, he had extremely controlling helicopter parents who never let him follow his passions, he was forced to eat shitty food, had to use his window to get out of the house, you get the idea. So, as you can probably imagine, he ends up being a not controlling father. But greg borders on being literally neglectful. He lets steven go on extremely dangerous missions with his alien gem friends. Steven watches his gem friend almost die, almost dies himself, is taken to gem court in space for the murder his mom committed, etc. Steven's trauma from going on these missions is actually the main point of steven universe: future, so its good that stevens trauma is addressed, but the thing is that it should not have been able to happen in the first place. Greg should have raised steven instead of freely letting steven do whatever he wants and letting the gems take him on life threatening missions. Steven never even went to a doctor until he was an adult in steven universe future ffs. Its never really addressed in the show aside from a comment from stevens girlfriends mom, who is a doctor, saying that she will have a word with greg for never having taken steven to the doctor.

She nearly started a war with a magic country because she didn't believe in magic despite it being an observable thing that people were just doing, stole something important from the Flame Kingdom just because she wanted it which also nearly started a war, and put a whole wedding in jail because she was mad she wasn't the center of attention. She has a line of people looking to marry her and instead of saying "Go home, I don't want to be married" she just lets them sit outside and ignores them, to the point there have been multiple generations of these dudes just sitting there. My addition: Avatar The Last Airbender. During the Seige of the North Pole, one of the last episodes of S1, Aang, bridge between spirits and humans, decides to let the Great Ocean Spirit have a joyride in the body of an Avatar, and the combination goes on to kill 1000s of Fire Nation Navy Members. We're supposed to root for Aang and Team Avatar because "Fire Nation Evil" when really, we're consistently shown that it's only like 1% of the Fire Nation that are actually evil, and most are brainwashed by propaganda (literally, S3 Aang goes to school and hears that propaganda himself, also in S3 is Katara helping a fire nation town, Sokka learning from Master Piandao, and Zuko's character arc). So most of those 1000s Aang killed are innocent and believe they were doing what was right. And in S3, when Aang is speaking to the past Avatars, he says "I've never taken a life" to Yangchen. EXCUSE ME?! You absolutely have. Even if we ignore the Seige of the North, S2 Episode 1, where Aang is at General Fong's base and the Avatar State is triggered, I'd say there were definitely Earth Kingdom deaths there too, and he actually looks at the damage. He knows he's killed someone. That's not including that Aang has lied (for good reasons, sure, but still completely lied) to people. Katara is so strongly racist it's not even funny, and while Sokka isn't as sexist anymore by S3, there is an undertone when he's with Suki during S2 of "I'll protect you, because I'm the man" Toph cheats during gambling, which blows in their face. Zuko, despite his redemption arc, still committed a lot of crimes and did some fucked up shit in the meantime. Idk, Team Avatar is kinda fucked up a little. Suki I think is the only one who is completely spotless by virtue of not being a full member of the Team (Aang doesn't consider Suki a friend in later years)

If I recall, he kinda wasn't used to spirits hitching a ride yet - He didn't know what they could do with his body, nor how thoroughly they could control him Plus, if the racist thing with Katara is about the fire nation... They kind of tried to subjugate her people. You're really ignoring context with a bunch of this that explains the why's
@wolfskinchanger
@wolfskinchanger 9 месяцев назад
The thing you have to remember about Team Avatar is that they're kids who for various reasons didn't have much opportunity to just be kids. Aang had the fate of the world resting on his shoulders at the age of twelve. Sokka was the only able-bodied man left to defend his village after the rest of the men took up arms to join the war effort. Katara stepped up as the 'mom' in the family after their mother was killed. Toph wasn't allowed to do anything for herself until she decided she'd had enough of the imprisonment that her father called protection. Zuko was kicked out of home years prior to the start of the series and sent on a fool's errand as a second-rate bounty hunter (and that's not even getting into the constant emotional abuses he suffered from his father and sister for years before that). So yeah, they're kinda messed up a bit, but I really can't blame them. They were all forced to fumble through an illusion of maturity that each one constructed for themselves based on (at best) half-understood general concepts of how mature adults act, with no other guiding principles except what they need to do next in order to win the war (something most adults don't generally need to worry about). And they know it, too; even Sokka, despite numerous claims otherwise, shows throughout the series that he doesn't really consider himself a 'man' until he receives validation from his father on that front.
@japanpanda2179

You really can't blame Aang for what he did at the Siege of the North Pole. He had no idea what the spirit would do once it possessed his body, and clearly couldn't control it while it did so. Spirits aren't human and don't follow our morals.

That's not the worst thing that happened in Chicken Little. TV Tropes said it better than I ever could: "Disney's Chicken Little didn't sit well with some viewers because of the way the story treats Foxy Loxy. She's a popular, athletic tomboy and a bully. And by the end of the film, not only is she the only real antagonist, but she's also mind raped into becoming docile and feminine after being trapped, terrified, in a featureless, black void. When a cure is offered, Runt exclaims "She's perfect!" and she instantly becomes his girlfriend. So her character arc ends with her being brainwashed into becoming traditionally feminine, and no one advocates for her right to her own personality because a boy likes her better this way."

In an episode of team oomy zoomy ( is that how it’s spelled? ) the three main characters are are competing in a race around a mountain against a large truck type character, that is obviously the “bad guy” of the episode because he had a unibrow a grumbly voice and a shit-talky attitude. I think it’s a normal Mario kart type race the whole way through, they use their super car with its abilities or whatever it has and the truck is just a normal truck, so he’s already at a disadvantage. One point the truck character takes the lead in the race. Which is completely unacceptable by main character kids show standards. So any guesses as to what they do about it?…. Yes?… ok well your guess was probably wrong, because they just straight up go off the main track into a random cave and grab what’s essentially the super star from Mario and proceeded to blatantly cheat by skipping over a giant lake and cutting in-front of the truck guy…….. ok? And they are then crowned as the winners and the good guys of the race and it’s all a happy ending also fuck truck guy… ok sure, truck guy might have done some cheating or being a dick to them. But come on, even if that is the case talk about stooping down to his level. I no comprehendo

There's this Chinese animated movie called "Big fish and Begonia", and the main character in it is straight up the villain; she's a supernatural being who willingly and knowingly destroys her village with storms, floods and other natural disasters, there were definitely deaths too, and pushes his supposed best friend, who is in love with her (and she knows this), to sell his soul to save her from the consequences of her own actions, all in order to revive a guy she likes. And the whole thing is treated like a beautiful love story. The guy is not her boyfriend or anything either, in fact, he has no idea she even exists as a humanoid, as far as he knows she's a dolphin he interacted with for like a minute.

I disagree with your Lazytown criticism. They weren't trying to force Robbie to be active. He would try to do things to stop the kids playing because he thought they were too loud. He never actually told them their noise was disturbing him. And he was weirdly phobic of vegetables and tried to stop other people from eating them just because he didn't like them. And I am 99% sure he does enjoy playing with everyone, he just tries to convince himself he doesn't.

In the transformers series- transformers prime - Mico, one of the kids who work with the auto boys basically makes fun of one of the kids for ingesting a dangerous power source for the decepticons. My siblings and myself watch the show every year, and only this year is when I really hate this character . (Not a chuldren’s show) in Phsyc, Shawn and Guster mock Lassiter for his poor performance as a new father. He is clearly stressed, and on top of being a new father, a detective, and a chief of police, they still feel comfortable enough to put him down.

Even as a kid I never sided with Robin Williams in Mrs. Doubtfire. Also always hated the Parent Trap parents.

I think the point of Mrs. Doubtfire is that they both had faults and were in the wrong to some degree. Don't get me wrong, what Daniel (Robin Williams' character) did was messed up, but his ex-wife Miranda refused to talk about new custody arrangements even though he was doing everything that he was supposed to do.

I'm calling BS on the fat controller hate. The fuck else are you going to do when you're arguing with a train? He ain't gonna move for a Scooby snack, he didn't move when it stopped raining, he ain't gonna move for $20. He also let Henry out and often saved engines from the scrapyard.

Gordon from Thomas the Tank Engine mercilessly insulted an American logging engine, Ferdinand, for being “funny and frumpy” even though he was paired up with him during a job and Ferdinand genuinely wanted to help. Then Ferdinand forgives Gordon and helps him out when the load they were carrying falls in a ditch

To be fair, Goku knew that literally no one else but Gohan had enough power to beat Cell, and also knew that Gohan would need that push to get him to unleash the power of Super Saiyan 2. He knew Gohan would try not to fight, and healed Cell so that Gohan would be able to snap. It's likely that if he didn't heal Cell, Gohan would just keep beating around the bush, and then Cell kills everyone out of desperation due to being kinda cornered. Definitely not a moment that's worthy of the "Dad of the Year" award, but considering the circumstances, Goku did the best with the hand he was dealt.

Star Wars the Clone Wars. While not exclusively a “kids show” it was more directed towards them, but also appeals to adult fans of Star Wars too. Anakin Skywalker was an absolute war criminal. Torture, false surrender, killing unarmed people, more torture, a second false surrender, and even more torture. Ahsoka and Obi-Wan are also not very innocent either. Ahsoka definitely took after Anakin quite a bit and Obi-Wan has his moments. Also Yoda, the best representation of the Jedi ideology did a few war crimes too.

Everyone craps on Man of Steel for various (and sometimes justified) reasons. But Superman II sometimes gets a pass even though Superman in that one is intentionally malicious. Let me explain. After a fight between Superman and Zod (and his goons), Superman leads them to his Fortress of Solitude, where supposedly he surrenders to Zod and depowers himself so he can save Earth and Louis Lane. BUT TRICKERY IS A FOOT! He depowers Zod and his cronies instead! That could be the end of it, but Superman crushes Zod's hand and tosses him down a crevasse to his death. Zod's brainless oaf of a minion just jumps to his doom because, shockingly, he's stupid! And the female Kryptonian gets punched by Louis causing her to also fall to her doom. And Superman has a smile on his face for his devious plan. And Superman's a good guy in this scenario? He could have just as easily just tied them up, flown them to a police station and that would have been that. Superman could have easily destroyed the machine that depowers and empowers Kryptonians so that if Zod escapes he couldn't just go back to the Fortress of Solitude to power himself up again.

I think the problem people have with Man of Steel is that they acted like killing Zod was this huge deal, and Superman felt so much sorrow for killing one genocidal would-be tyrant despite the fact that the number of people he killed in collateral damage during the battle had to be at least in the hundreds. At least in II, he didn't feel the need to pretend killing Zod was some sort of line he didn't want to cross, and before anyone says anything about the "no-kill" rule superheroes follow nowadays, that wasn't really a thing at the time. Batman shoved a lit stick of dynamite into a dudes pants and tricked two-face into falling to his death in the live action Batman movies.

@@lightsidesoul I would also point out that depending on which version of the movie you're watching (the theatrical release or the Richard Donner cut), Zod and his two cronies survive and are sent to prison.

Worst take on goku giving cell a senzu bean ever. Goku did NOT win against Cell, though causing him to regenerate did make Cell use a significant amount of energy. But even then, Goku woulda died if he kept fighting. He knew Gohan’s hidden potential was the only hope left. Cell needed to be at full power to be arrogant enough to WANT to draw out that hidden power, he needed gohan to fight cell at full power full power too so gohan wpuld also understand his hidden potential really was the last bit of hope left. Was it a gamble? Sure. But it really was the best decision in the end.
@andrewscott848
@andrewscott848 11 месяцев назад
To add further to that, his mistake was not giving Cell a Senzu bean. His mistake was him thinking this was something Gohan wanted. This stems from the fact that he had recovered from the heart virus just a couple of weeks ago when he was supposed to die from it. This caused him to believe that he needed to train up someone to be earth's protector. It is perfectly shown during the lead up to the Cell Games, when he sought out a Namekian to replace Kami as earth's guardian, as Kami merged with Piccolo, and in the alternate timberline, Kami died when the androids killed Piccolo.

@@andrewscott848 What's funny is that Goku's Instant Kamehameha should have killed Cell. Canonically, Cell's "core" is in his head, and this is the part of him that allows him to regenerate as long as it survives. Goku's Kamehameha blew up the entire top half of his body, not just his head. Cell should have died right there.

Suprised no one mentioned Preacher. The protagonist 1: literally has the power to make anyone do what he says, and 2: in season 3, though he's kinda forced to do it, he descends into absolute assholery.

Story 29. That's not really the case. Jedi are allowed to feel emotions, but are taught that acting on negative emotions is wrong, and for the same reason you don't want a cop who's pulled you over, who's going through a messy divorce to give you a ticket, because they'd be tempted to go overboard. You especially don't want the cop with Jedi superpowers acting on negative emotions. As for the rest, Jedi can and do embrace the cultures of their home planets, we see several, such as Shaak Ti, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Ahsoka Tano and Depa Bilaba do so. As for the attachments, it all wraps back to that when you have superpowers, you can't be putting one person over another, you're supposed to be loving and compassionate to all people equally. We see what happened when Anakin put his wife's fate over the rest of the galaxy, and how it backfired horribly on him.

1:08 I read about this a while ago and it has completely ruined the show for me, I would never want to watch one where someone like that is treated as a villain. The whole idea of a competition between siblings to see who can continue there training is also just stupid. BTW, the character they're talking about is called Stevie Nichols.
