She is speaking at "normal speed" french. You just need to push and listen way more "faster paced" content. After a while, you start noticing that some people you thought they speak fast actually speak "normal" or slow. Every language you learn seems to be spoken too fast. Just listen and read more real life spoken French.

I can't have children due to medical reasons, and when I first told my friend, she said it was amazing that women who can't have children get married, while women who can, are single (she obviously meant herself). I laughed, and stayed in touch for a short while, but not for long afterwards.

It's impossible not to hurt people because you can say something thinking that isn't a big deal, but it'll depend how the person take it in the brain, the bottom line is, sometimes people say things without offending but people interpret it in other way.

My partner has no sense of decorum and we don't eat meat. At a family gathering I wanted to crawl under the table when someone asked him why he didn't eat it- I say for reasons of faith, which is true. He straightforwardly replied,, " because it's dead rotting flesh, it's cruelty to animals and it gives you cancer" 😳🤦🏼‍♀️ I have never experienced so many forks hitting plates and traumatised people staring into their plates. Still makes me cringe 🙇🏼‍♀️

@@gf4453 it is, I didn't need to see the gorey pictures, we went past the home of new mums and their babies a couple of days later went past again, no little ones playing just stock still mums staring into space traumatised. The interim weekend was Easter. That is not civilised to me. It's not humankind, it's inhumanely cruel

En tant qu'un homme gay (et avant ça, un enfant efféminé), j'ai une longue liste de choses qu'on ma dit et qui m'ont fait du mal. La pire c'était quand mes collègues du lycée m'ont dit que mes parents auraient honte de moi. Mais je crois que dans un long terme, ce qui m'a vraiment blessé c'était des conseils si bien intentionés, comme "parlez plus fort", "ne soyez pas si delicát" et ces choses comme ça. Maintenaint j'ai 31 ans et je ne me sens toujours pas sûr de ma façon de parler et de me comporter. (Mais ça va, j'ai appris à me debrouiller avec ces choses quand même)

On a tous des expériences pareils, nous les homo .. de ma part , c'était mon père qui été assez agressif vers moi à cause de ma manière assez douce de me comporter , il voulait que je jouais du foot comme les autres gamins , jusqu'au point de me hurler devant les autres d'arrêter de me comporter comme.un pd , ça m'a marqué pour la vie , j'avoue, mais bon. Jsuis la , a mes 33 ans. Voilà.

Aïe, aïe, aïe. Personnellement, je souffre d'un léger complexe de supériorité (j'ai tendance à me considérer mieux que tout le monde) et même en tant que gay, c'est plutôt moi qui ait tendance à faire des remarques un peu méprisantes aux autres (même si je m'en veux beaucoup de faire ça). Avec l’âge (j'ai passé 50 ans), j'ai appris à être plus tolérant et bienveillant et à me dire que faire des remarques désobligeantes, même sur le ton de l'humour, était dispensable.

As a cashier, things get said to me, i generally don't take it personally. The one exception was when I had to refuse an alcohol sale and the customer told me "I know you're handicapped but you can't treat people like this."

C'est un très bon sujet ça. Certaines choses dites par nos proches peuvent être assez blessantes, je ne suis pas rancunière mais j'ai eu du mal à pardonner une ou deux fois dans ma vie. C'est une chose qu'une remarque vienne d'un inconnu, toute autre chose si elle vient d'un proche.

Today is 4th of july and IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!! I'm grateful im healthy and i just turned 18. No one wished me lol.Ever since i was a kid my birthdays have never been special or even nice with my parents being so aggresive about silly random things. A few days back my 12th boards results came and i passed with 71% but my mom keeps saying how ashamed she is of me because of my poor results so niether did i get to cut a cake nor go out. When i ask her if I deserved such treatment she kept saying im such a failure and all other kids have done so well! I dont know about motivation but all is know is my mom demotivates me really well by comparng me with random other kids all the time and how she keeps showering me with abuses all the time..I'm happy im a single child i know my siblings would never be able to bear such torture. And I hope no one ever gets a mom like her since no one deserves so. I hope someday i'm genuinely happy without having to show fake smiles as if im fine. I know its not the worst thing but still hurts especially more when u hear it one your bday. I'm grateful im strong enough to bear all this so thank you god for such lovely parents!

J'ai passé une mois dans un travail que j'ai detesté avec une chef que je n'ai aimé pas du tout. Elle a pensé que je saurais tout et elle m'a donné pas de l'instruction. Quand j'ai demandé de l'aide elle a dit que je devrais trouver la solution moi même, quand je n'ai pu faire ça inévitablement, elle m'a dit que sa nièce de 10 ans peut faire mon travail meilleur que moi. Après ça, je suis parti.

la dernière chose méchante qu'on m'a dite est venue d'un collège au travail, qui a appris que je venais d'être diagnostiqué d'un cancer, et la première chose qu'il m'a dit, c'était : " quel dommage, ma sœur est décédée d'un cancer après avoir beaucoup souffert, " et je n'ai rien dit, mais je trouvais ça ne m'a pas fait sentir mieux.

Are you trying to say "Can I have this"? Cause there's a couple of problems There's three ways of asking a question in French, the one you did (inversion) is formal. But if you do want to use it, it'd be "Puis-je" When you have two verbs in a row like that, the second has to be in the infinitive. So "avoir" not "ont". Also, "ont" goes with "ils", not "je". And finally, "ce" doesn't normally stand alone like that. You'd say "ceci" or "ça". So you can say "Puis-je avoir ceci ?" which is very formal. "Est-ce que je peux avoir ça ?" which is neutral. "Je peux avoir ça ?" which is more casual.

When compounded with "avoir" (used as auxiliary), past participles don't agree with subject: "elles ont dit". However, IF the compounded verb has a *direct complement* ("on a dit *la pire chose*") AND if that complement is located *before* the verb (like in a relative structure) THEN the participle agrees in gender and number with it: "la pire chose (fem.) qu'on vous a dite", "les pires choses qu'on vous a dites".
