Cori, I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of your son. We lost our middle son in 2008 at 20 years old and my husband passed away in 2017 at only 60. Grief really stinks and sneaks up on you and takes you down whenever it feels like it. Please be patient with yourself and be good to yourself. Your hurt will unfortunately never go away, I’m so sorry to say, but as time goes on it will change and you will learn to live along side it. Sending you strength and hugs. ❤

The loss of a child is the most painful loss a person can survive. We lost our eldest son a year ago this February. There are no words. I read in the comments that many want you to pick your next project. I think you may want some direction as even small decisions are so difficult during this time. Therefore, clusters are wonderful because you can just get lost in them. But should you wish to do a larger project, either the Gentleman's Journal or the Wildflower Journal because they really only need to be put together and maybe tweaked. Sending love and prayers.

Dear Cori & Family, I know that there are no words right now that will ever make this better, but always remember, you have a large crafting family behind you, supporting you anyway we can. I can certainly relate to using my craft as a way to cope when all has seemed broken. We both share a teachers heart, so whatever brings you most joy, will bring joy to others!! You are well known for your clusters and how small touches add so much to anything!! I love all the projects you have organized so wonderfully, I will watch and craft along with you!! So very, very sorry about the loss of your youngest child. That's the worse loss ever! We never think we will have bury a child. My prayers are with you. I have had a rotten 2024 but I'm having trouble creating. I' m just not motivated and I am unable to create. Between 2023 and 2024 the life has just been sucked out. Creating has always been my escape. I'm so glad you can do this as you work through the grieving process.🙏

Dear Cori, I am so sorry for your loss, creating is such a "vehicle" for helping us move on, move forward or just set aside for the moment. The popular thing today is flip flop journals either made out of envelopes or scrapbook paper. I would love to see your take on one. Of course only if you are up to doing so. Cori, I could hear in your voice and what you shared, this has been a period of overwhelming grief for you, your close friends, and loved ones.My heart and spirit are with you, and know, this community loves you. For me, 2024 has been a bit difficult ,and like you, I find peace in sitting in my art room and creating. Sometimes, I jut sit in my art room and find sanctuary, not do anything else but looking at what surrounds me. It’s not as relaxing as assembling a bit of art, being mindful only with what I’m doing. We survive and today is always a new day with possibilities. I would love to see whatever the majority is interested in working on. I do like the idea of seeing you make things, such as what you showed in your first enamel container, along with fiddling with unfinished clusters, however, I will follow along with whatever you’re doing. I have loads of pics of things you made as inspiration, but more is more, you know. Thanks again for all you do for us. Peace be with you and your loved ones.

I'm so sorry you had to experience that loss. I was reflecting that my little brother would have been 54 this 17th and even though I've been learning to live with him gone for nearly 11 years now, I'm surprised at how much it can still ache at times. When I finally get to see him again, I'm going to kick him in the shin and then give him a huge hug so he knows we're good. I think throwing yourself into your creative outlet is healthy. I never had a cleaner house, let me tell you! But thankfully, as the years have passed, the grief has gone from gaping wound to tender proud flesh. Thank goodness we were made in such a way that the pain gets easier to tolerate. And the hope of being reunited in the future keeps us moving forward. {{hugs}}

Cory, I am most sorry for your loss. There are no easy or useful words to tell you now, but I hope you start feeling better soon. I think creating can be very healing, and maybe doing something totally different could help. As far as I know, your lovely work usually deals with vintage style and ochre -yellow-orange-brown shades. Maybe a totally different colour you rarely use, or different techniques or a new theme such as, I don't know, the 40's or 60's could be a challenge that keeps your mind and your hands busy right now. It's just an idea. Big hugs for you and your family.

I am sorry to hear of your loss! I am glad that creating helps to take your mind off of it even for a while. I would love to have you choose which to finish and in which order, however if that is too hard right now may I suggest a journal lottery? You could list each project on a slip of paper and put them all into a "hat" and pull one out. Would you enjoy that? We would enjoy any of them I am sure.
