No. If a cartridge flies out, it WAS loaded. A proper scientist will keep racking, until no cartridge flies out, Then the scientist will know the gun is no longer loaded.

It could be worse, the 'operators' apparently have no problem covering the compensation holes on the top of the barrel with their hand, or covering the muzzle with their pinky. lol
Fun fact: that little protrusion above the trigger guard is meant to be used to know if there's a round in the chamber. Simply hold the gun next to your ear with the barrel towards the sky, and pull the little lever thing towards the grip and listen for a faint pop or bang. If all you hear is a click, then you know it's unloaded
You've either never checked your firearm that way or are bad at it if you always smidge your optic. Just make sure your finger touches the metal edge and not the glass instead of finger banging your opting lmao

Yeah I know they got the ejection port indicator but what if it is a snap cap or something wrong with that indicator. My practice is if a pistol goes from not my possession (safe/another person/table) to in my possession (hand/holster) I do a check as well as see if the RDO is working and not blocked. After that, then I know I'm loaded and the RDO is working.
Or just because why would you, you would have to go out of your way to have a pistol with a loaded mag but an empty chamber, and why on earth would you do that
@@timbo240 who’s stealing the round out of the chamber? You load a full mag, load a round into the chamber and then top off the mag. No bullet fairy is coming around to steal the round out of the chamber.
@@wqzf That is BS 😂 Press checks are performed after racking the slide to check if there was actually a round loaded from the mag into the chamber. Pretty stupid if the first sound in a competition / tactical training or a real gunfight is just a click 😂 Your mag might not seat right or the follower is stuck and suddenly you have an empty chamber without ever knowing because you didn’t press check!
I've carried a handgun everyday for nearly 10 years, both concealed and in a professional capacity and have never once felt the need to do a press check. I dont understand why it's difficult for people to know of their gun is loaded or not.

I remember years ago seeing a video from a guy who said that press checks were the stuff of rank amateurs. Not sure where I fall on this one, but the amount of lip service given to something that should be unnecessary like 99.9% of the time seems odd.
Right. Always loaded. Unless grabbing a gun from someone else in the battlefield, which makes total sense. But that thought to me yells “I play to much call of duty”
@@christianmuriel4088I swap out pistols depending on situation. Whichever one is in the pouch has a full mag, but nothing in the chamber. If you’re only taking one wherever you go that makes sense though
Press checks are largely taught because a lot of people who start shooting don't rack the slide all the way. It's not a bad habit to be in because human error can always happen
Guess what though the “fudd” has the best grip on the gun and can still easily point the handgun while doing this and it’s the easiest to do under pressure
I usuallly just keep my bullets in the opposite safe that i keep my firearm in just so no oopsies happen. You guys are crazy, that think loaded could really hurt someone.
People have a hang-up about press checking your weapon, and I really don't know why. Yes, my firearms, all of them are loaded and chambered always unless I am reloading or cleaning the weapon, but I do check the weapon occasionally, even my rifles. Most of the time I don't pull the slide back however, I just look at the loaded chamber indicator on my pistols. On my rifles I just pull the bolt back a little. Not a big deal if you do or don't.
Idk what technique youre using but it is not easy to fuck that up lol its impressive to fu k it up if anything. I dont find it practical but ive done it for fun and not once has that ever came close to happening. @@hauntedpalace6529
@@hauntedpalace6529 I do this with my Glock too. I press with my index and the inside of my thumb, naturally my remaining 3 fingers flair out, kind of like an okay sign.
New gun owner for 3 months now. I don't need to press check my SW MP compact due to its design. My FN 510 I seem to be partial to the "operator", but to eject any rounds or jams and make sure my chamber is clear.
