I have had bad experiences with opening cards, you are almost guaranteed to lose money. I bought two booster boxes of evolving skies(72 packs), where there are SO many high value cards in it. And my best pull was a $100 alt art rayquaza. I probably made 60% of my money back if I was bothered to go through the trouble of selling all cards worth more than a couple bucks. I've just learned if I want a specific card, just watch the market, buy it when it drops outright with cash. it's done me way more justice, why buy 12 packs and maybe make your money back when you can just buy 60$ in specific cards. Aside from like the top 3 cards in a set, the rest of the cards are usually under $20. I've also noticed the more you fixate and go crazy the less you pull. bought 50 packs of silver tempest and my best pull was a 20$ card, meanwhile my family buys two packs randomly when they go shopping and pulled a 200$ charizard alt art. If there is a set that is very sought after, better off just buying the booster box, holding onto it for awhile and reselling it. you'll likely double your money or more and just use that towards cards you want. Just my words of wisdom from a trader/collector
It's about the pack opening and the community, not only the cards (even though they are also important) what is the fun when you just buy the card you want instead of acualy pulling it
I not only collect pokemon card sets, but I love pokemon everything, and honestly? I’ve made ALOT more than I’ve ever spent on pokemon cards, I make trades with other collectors, I barter cards for more boxes, I meet alot of good people in the community, it’s just all around a lot of fun!
Cards especially newer series is all a gamble as well as an investment. 5-10-15+ years from now is when some will be a targeted collectors hunting prey because like wine they become better with time.
itz not abt the moneys, it should be becuz u like tha cards!!! thinking of prices constantly just sucks the fun out of this hobby, sure its like super cool to own an expensive card, (my most expensive card is a japanese 151 bulbasaur illustration rare :D) but it also makes u not appreciate cards just bc theyre not expensive :(
what are yo talking about? i pulled an alt art in my second evolving skies pack and i get at least 1 hits per 3 packs i open usually so for me its 1 in 3 but scarlet and violet packs (besides 151) are like 1 in 1.5 on the hit scale. they increased the hit rates so much that i basically get $2-0.50 "hits". the probability of getting a hit theres no way to tell because its all random. so i dont think they even need to lower pack prices but everyone has different opinions so i kind of understand your frustration. also pokemon cards are made to be open for fun, not for profit, its a kids trading card game. i myself while now a teenager still collect pokemon cards and i solely open them up for fun not for profit.
@@InactiveTankerySplankery See,you said it all in the last sentence, your just now a teenager and I'm guessing your not the person paying for all those packs are you... And why would you even think like the rest of us who are paying for them. When it's ACTUALLY your money you'll maybe have a different opinion. Until then
Hey just some advice. If you move the prices up a tiny bit on these shorts it would be better because the subscribe button blocks the prices for some reason. Good content brother! Keep it up
You will never get your moneys worth in cards, even if you spend 100 usd and get a card woth 100 usd, selling it , shipping it , going to post and other that comes with it will cost you more and therefore you will have - money.
Shining legends packs are $30 each. So that’s 60. Shiny star v is $12, the new ex shiny set is $10, and the other packs are $3-4. So no, it is basically just about $100
