Kind of ironic that someone who wants to purchase with sustainability in mind partners with IKEA, they are known to destroy forests, they are basically the fast fashion of the furniture world.
I knew when she answered the door in that fly ass suit - this apartment was going to be a cool retro vibe. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I am really feeling it. It’s so nice and airy while totally being a reflection of her 70’s eclectic style.
@@applebee39 Its still not really reasonable. That would mean that the place is atleast 1 million dollars to buy, and 1 million is a lot for 1,500 sqft. You're saying its reasonable for Toronto but in reality, property is wayyyyyy overpriced in Toronto. Just because it is an average cost, does not mean it is reasonable, causes its not.
So like... did ikea contact her and offer to furnish her home just so she could do this episode? How did this work? Did she get booked to do the episode and ikea was like ‘wait let us give you some pieces to throw in on your tour but don’t worry you don’t have to keep it’??
I mean yeah it was definitely a little weird but I also furnished an apartment recently and I can tell you that despite my best efforts to find everything vintage/secondhand/sustainably, I ended up having to get some things from Ikea and target. At least she tried to know the materials of each item she was getting and find sustainable items.
It says the video is in partnership with ikea so she probably got a brand deal to furnish the apartment in exchange for the video promotion OR a credit which she was able to use to purchase the furniture. Either way she gets to keep it im sure.
It's just a bed and two planters, it's not like it's her whole apartment lol. I think she does a pretty good job of finding second-hand items to furnish her home.
Whoa my friend lived in that apartment on bellwoods 10 years ago, i think they paid $2000 at that time. Too bad they covered over the original brick wall but nice to see it refreshed, great location.
What are people doing for a living that they can afford 3600.00 each month on JUST rent.....?!? This seems ludicrous. I wonder what percentage of her annual income she's spending on rent.
An apartment this size would cost well over a million in Toronto. If she only has a single income and this is her first home she will likely not get approved for a mortgage on this apartment. Unless of course she has an annual salary upwards of 180k
This was absolutely BEAUTIFUL ! My favourite part has to be the studio - I just love how it was incorporated into the space. I'm also biased because I'm a Torontonian as well and it's fun to see more Toronto digs being shown! xx
I’m obsessed with her style! The color and patterns she incorporated into the space are on point. I love the emphasis on quality vs quantity and trends. You can tell she only has pieces the really speak to her as an individual
This is amazing!! Still shocked of the rent cost but you do have a lot of space and you are saving a lot by having your studio home... Thanks for including more living places in Canada ❤️
$3600 for rent?! Rent is already so high in Toronto especially in her area, Queen West. Wow. I really wonder what she does for a living because MOST of us here definitely can't afford that rent even if you have a good job and a stable income. Beautiful space though!
This place is making my ocd brain so uncomfortable. So many different things going on! I get it’s organized but looks so cluttery and Mismatched to me 😭🤷🏻♀️
Good they pulled the last what you get in Toronto living bc it was owned by her sister better dipiction for the broke new generation that can’t afford a tiny ass studio 😂👍
IKEA is one of the the LEAST sustainable companies out there. They make cheap furniture fast fashion style, and they have been know to cut down trees from places they are prohibited from.WHY IS SHE TALKING ABOUT SUSTAINABILITY WHEN THE SPONSOR FOR THE VIDEO IS IKEA!?
It's so fucking hilarious to hear those z's and Millenials talk about their wooden beds as part of being sustainable as if they discovered a new planet or something lol wooden beds were always around! It's your countless shopping sprees for clothes and electronics and meats and dairy consumption that is over the top and wasteful, but hold and behold, let's talk about my renewable shower plants...😂😂😂😂
I wish they sold adorable chow chows at Ikea 😍 beautiful apartment and i like the way you incorporated the ikea items organically, plus included names of products and prices.
What a tone deaf time to post such an unrealistic depiction of how so many live in Toronto. I am on the same street as Dani, and yet I am forced to live with my ex as I can’t afford to kick him out. We are in the midst of a housing crisis and somehow you think it’s attainable to achieve this level of designer furniture / 3600$ space - so egregious and depressing. Makes me really angry as this is the reason I am planning on leaving this city - highly suggest creating more realistic depictions of how so many of us struggling artists survive in one of the most expensive cities in Canada
I dont think they were aiming to make it sound achievable. We must be careful not to easily blame others for our own (rightfully) negative feelings about our situation
If she was in Michigan the same type of apartment she would get for the exact size would be right at about $1300-1600.and then she would be able in some cases to buy a house as far bigger but everybody gets what they like I thought that it would probably should have had an interior decorator and really make it very cozy nothing like having customized furniture and the interior decorator to really set It off. ‼️💯😇🤓😱😇🤷🏼♀️
