Many people on the internet try to garner your attention with clickbait telling you that you can achieve lofty goals as a programmer in 3 months or less. It's possible yet unlikely. I argue, and research shows, that if we can learn to stick it out... we're better off in the long run.
Special thanks to Liz Krane @ Learn Teach Code LA! And a big thank you to She.Codes and the Data Science Club at PCC.

Showing the good stuff to people. It's good you mentioned the typical coding RU-vid BS, I'm really tired of listening to that.

I was professional music producer till last year when I started to learn coding. I still do producing as freelancer, but most of my time I am spending on learning front-end development.

@@strykeplaysmcjohnpickhypix1205 The market is oversaturated. Clients often have egos bigger than Mount Everest, yet they don't have the funds to back it up. The equipment you use is prohibitively expensive, and you're being paid less than an unskilled laborer. On the other hand, just like in programming, you constantly have to learn new things, keep up with trends, and are not financially rewarded for your hard work, knowledge, and dedication. Also, coding is appealing to me, as well as many other creative professions, because I enjoy building something. This feels like something I can create and make useful, so that's why I started.

@@SonicFictionTV im also in music production. Currently feeling all this in the music sector. It's fun when its a hobby, but very stressful when you're trying to make a living off it. I'm also heavily considering going in the developer route rn, and this gave me alot of hope, since you've been in a similar position to me
