Most people lie and overthink it. Swimming 200 fly is not actually that hard if you prepared for it For some proof why its easy for me. I am a profesional swimmer (14yr) I'm around top 50 or maybe top 25 in uk. (AGE GROUP)
The first time my brother Swam a 200 butterfly, he was lapped by my friend He ended up getting the pitty clap He immediately said “I got a fucking pitty clap, I’m never doing that again”. He proceeded to watch Xena warrior princess on vhs
Fly is my event too, I swim in 4'00" relax in olympic pool. Best time 3'30" ( 3'12" in 25m ) I did many competitions in fly for freestyle : 400-800-1500m ( 29'23" in 25m and 31'00" in 50m ) I am 64 . Number 4 in my age group masters in France. Fly is ok if you are relax !!!!
I was always a freestyler & backstroker until one day at training my coach decided (this was masters, by the way) I would be great at 200 fly So since then I've done a few & the odd 400 IM Funny enough, as I've gotten older, I can't sprint like I used to & now swimming 1,500 free Plan on some open water this year 😮
Just a week back....I started a 200 fly as a friendly challenge....as soon as my friend and me turned after 50m....we both literally went like why???🤣🤣 But then continued anyway😂😂
