I have the same bike that I bought new in '13 with 10sp Dura Ace groupo and DA-C24 wheelset - still love riding it. The ride is very similar to my 2019 SuperSix. Great bike with over-the-top cool graphics.
Very nice Michael, & you'd have got a good deal on the 7800 in 2013. Best group Shim ever made, mind you I much like the 7700 too. I love my CAAD 3s, all on 7700 & 7800 & C24s.
Love rim brake, so shame the big brands would not sell anymore, and the wheelset makers already stopped updating rim version.Thumb up for the bontrager saddle, also using it, pretty satisfied.
Custom-configured wheelsets exist and there are rim manufacturers like Nextie still producing rims for use with rim brakes. What you need is a good wheelbuilding studio.

I'm still riding mine. Have lots of other bikes (3 Supersix Evo HMs, a 2011 Madone, etc), but it's such a trusty steed. I've had mine since 2014 with Shinano RS80 wheels

It's still a really nice bike. I have a 2013 Cervelo S2 (when it was still one of their top-tier race bikes, not an entry-level bike with slack geometry) with Dura-Ace 9100 mechanical and it is still fast as heck, and it's very light. The only issue I have with it is very limited tire clearance; the only 25 clinchers I've found that don't rub on the rear are Specialized Turbo Cottons.
If you got the groupset for free for testing, then obviously you are happy with it and of course you recommend it. otherwise you wouldn't get anything else for free testing in thr future :)
Get a 2010s bike, go a size down,add 80mm deep dish hoops,burn all the Tarmac SL8s in the universe,quiet is kept 🔥 📛 🌶 I own a modern rig as well but ride my 2009 Allez triple with 55mm carbon hoops all the time still, it smokes, two different experiences, every road cyclists should cop one of each The 2010s decade bikes were designed around actual proper athletes not cushy consumers
Thank you for sharing. I'm into rim brake bikes and won't ride anything else. I like ur bike. I would bring the weight down to 7kg and it will feel a whole lot different. I would change the saddle, stem and drop bars - being in china u can easily get a 90gram padded saddle, a 90gram carbon stem and a 150gram drop bar. Get Maxxis highroad SL tires and tpu tubes. I had ws hypers and found them heavy. Get 1.2KG ws. If u have the budget, get cane we brake calipers and Elilee cranks.
You have a very good point. I'm currently testing this groupset and this is my only rim-brake frame but perhaps in the future I can simplify it even further.
Very nice bike indeed, & 7.5 kg is pretty average for the latest & greatest. I'm on CAAD 3s, all on D/A 7700 or 7800 . C24s. & ultra light everything else. But as luck would have it, just a couple of days ago I got a mint new set of DT Swiss PR1400s Oxic, 13 mm rim profile, on 36T ratchet 240S hubs, (love the titanium skewers too), $440 Aussie with a new D/A cassette & new Schwalbe Pro Ones'.

These frames feel amazing. Wish they had a little more tire clearance for some fatter tires....not sure if you can fit 28mms on these. CAAD12 could fit 30mm but that frame isnt quite as stiff. CAAD10s get up and go immediately.
wanna hear update for this Group set. i have Ltwoo electronic before. i not get the issue like people have so far but i already sold it to someone. then not long after sold my Ltwoo, people start make a video about the problem they have with their Ltwoo. in that moment im very glad i sold it, in long term i not really like with the Ltwoo braking system it very fragile the bolt always got lose make annoying sound on the disc brake, so i sold it to someone. i wanna hear your experience about this groupset in the wet condition. and did it get trouble like Ltwoo.
So I'm aware of the waterproofing issues that some have had with LTWOO ERX, fortunately for me but unfortunately for you, the weather has been really good here and not rained the entire time I've had this groupset, so I can't speak on it's waterproofing for long rides in the rain. What I can say is that I've blasted this sucker with a hosepipe full on, like directly onto the charging ports etc. Trying to cause any problem that was looking to happen and it has still worked through that. I'll keep everyone updated with a follow up once I've had some bad weather rides and tesing.

Hi, its one of the wheeltop EDS groupsets (electronic chinese brand) it was working great for a while but it became unreliable later on so I have put 11 speed Ultegra on it now. I do mostly run it tubeless. Unfortunately I didn't weigh it before the upvgrades but I guess between 8.5 - 9 kg.
How is the WHEELTOP groupset holding? Thinking to also get it for my rim bike but have not seen many reviews of the Rim brake electric version. I appreciate your feedback!

CAAD 8 is a very good frame, 4/5/6/7s with the silly cut out at the rear drop outs break there. I ride CAAD 3s, all on either D/A 7700 or 7800 & C24s. We get a lot of wind. It's 7.5 KG with deep wheels an a power meter... Sure a superbike might save a few watts but if you aren't holding on this you'd get dropped on any bike I imagine @@santhoshsivan4693
I have been testing it for about 1000km now and I have not had anu reliability issues. I have washed the bike with a lot of hose pipe spraying and have not experienced any waterproofing issues but no long rain rides yet as the weather has been dry. It's not available in the US just yet but will update when it is.
Yo, these are 25mm GP5000 STR's... Zero rubbing, the carbon spokes are very stiff. Could also run 28's but the 2020 hypers are designed around 25mm tyres, the newer wheels (2023 HYPERS) will have a better aero interface with a wider tyre than these because of being wder internallt. 21mm.
These shifters are naturally a little tilted outwards so this actually makes them feel 'nornal' but I do also tilt my Shimano ones on my other bike in slightly, I like the way it feels... Personal preference
Most riders do it for aerodynamics (reduced frontal area), some do it for ergonomics. Try holding your arms up with your hands ahead of you, put your hands at rest and you'll see them roll inwards naturally.
Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, and OfferUp are the best places IMO. In 2022, one of my riding buddies bought a 2011 CAAD10 with 105 that was a garage queen. Even had the original garbage Schwalbe tires in like new condition. The bike came with a computer that had 86 miles on the odometer. Customer showed the purchase receipt that stated he purchased the computer and SPD pedals when he bought the bike. My buddy bought it from the seller for $450. He's still pleased with it. It's a 54 cm and while he had a bike fit done, I think a 52cm would've been better for him. After about 70 miles, he starts to feel it. Now he's looking for a 52 and is struggling to find one for sale too.
Shifters are wonky, the shifter is designed to sit in parallel with the handlebar stem, ask all handlebar manufactures that and they will say the same. Wonky shifters is a stupid fad that some pr*ck came up with in the peloton and a stack of lemmings have followed off the cliff. It reminds me of a few years ago when again some pro rider thought it was a great idea to raise up the saddle and give it a really steep angle and seriously compromise there physical support, I wonder what happened with all that mad stuff, all gone, I wonder why. I have a feeling that the UCI are banning the silly thick and dim looking wonky shifter idea and quite rightly too, asap please. Peace
