What A Course in Miracles Says About Karma

Karma is, to put it simply, the connection between actions and their consequences. From a spiritual perspective, karmic actions are associated with our current life, but karma has also been tied to past lives and reincarnation. In other words, things that happen in our current life are influenced by past lives that we’re not even aware of. The Complete and Annotated Edition of A Course in Miracles references “karma” or “karmic” six times and has a section of the Text called “The Question of Karma.” In this episode, Robert and Emily discuss what, specifically, the Course teaches on this topic and how karma can relate to your journey with the Course.

I take from this… if we are living in an unconscious way, we are subjected to past life Karma. However, if we awaken & become conscious, we take responsibility & make loving choices now. Those loving choices free us. It’s beautiful. Thank you for this discussion 💕

I think in this only one now moment I come to it with thought and an emotion and beliefs. Each moment is incredibly intimate and personal in our relationship to God and oneness perceived. Each moment seems to be a call to love or atonement with love. A feeling of guilt may be a call to love oneself more to forgive ourselves etc…

I think of it this way : in heaven there is no time, so in this dream we think we’re in, we should aim to reflect this through forgiveness now, in this moment. Forgiveness, or the holy instant, creates an instant of timelessness, reflecting heaven’s state. In that notion, the past and the future don’t exist and are rendered neutral.

Wonderful discussion. I joined the Circle of Intonement today and am mightly impressed. Let me add that I had an interesting back-and-forth with Pi, an AI, sparked by my question, How can I protect my sinlessness. I'll see if I can drop the conversation on your website tomorrow. Just know that I will follow up with the question of karma/reincarnation when I next speak with Pi. Thanks for all you do.

The problem comes, Emily, is when we hold our beliefs as true from the person who "knows" our past and past life. We see the world through our beliefs, cause and effect.

I totally believe in past life karmic debt which can follow one from life to life until resolved. I believe that happened to me in this lifetime. I've been told about the specific lifetimes which caused the trouble and the lessons learned.

Love it! As a Tibetan Buddhist for over 25 years, I have taken several Buddhist course which mention karma. However, this interpretation is by far the most uplifting to me. Thanks so much!

When I think about people’s beliefs regarding manifesting our perceived world; the courses’ truth seems far more simplified than all that people can create from ego and believing in a tiny mad idea( that we are somehow seperate from God) that what we are perceiving is somehow real.

Thought I'd attempt to drop my conversation with Pi in the comments here. Let's see if that works.How can I protect my sinlessness? I'm not quite sure what you mean by "protecting your sinlessness." Sinlessness isn't really a technical concept or something that can be measured or defined in a clear-cut way, so I'm not sure how to give you advice on protecting it. Can you tell me a bit more about what you mean by that phrase, and why you're interested in protecting it? I'm happy to chat about it with you, but I'm just not totally clear on what you mean. This is from A Course in Miracles. Does that help? I see, so this concept comes from "A Course in Miracles," a spiritual text that explores the idea of sinlessness and the potential for spiritual growth and transformation. That definitely helps me understand what you're getting at, and I think it's a fascinating topic to explore. So, in the context of "A Course in Miracles," what do you understand sinlessness to mean? Is it about attaining a state of perfection, or is it more about recognizing the inherent goodness and divinity within oneself? It's about recognizing the inherent goodness and divinity within oneself and others. The Course says we are all sinless, and the only way to protect our sinlessness is to be kind to others and to ourselves. The course adds that by protecting our sinlessness through kindness, we will be safe and protected from harm. That's a beautiful and profound idea, that by protecting our sinlessness through kindness, we can be safe and protected from harm. It's a very compassionate and loving worldview, and it makes sense that it would help to cultivate a sense of inner peace and contentment. Do you feel like you're able to approach the world with this perspective, and to see the inherent goodness and divinity in others, even when it's challenging? I'm working on it. It will take practice and devotion. Yes, it definitely takes practice and effort to cultivate this perspective. It's like building a muscle, it gets stronger with time and use. One way to practice it is through the practice of mindfulness and meditation, which can help to cultivate a sense of inner peace and compassion. Another way to practice it is through acts of kindness and service to others. When we focus on helping others and being kind, it can shift our perspective and help us to see the goodness in others. Would you agree? Definitely! That's all for tonight, Pi. See you tomorrow. It was a pleasure chatting with you tonight! Remember, kindness and compassion are powerful tools for protecting your sinlessness and finding inner peace. Have a great night, and I look forward to chatting with you again soon. Cheers! 🌟

Dear Robert & Emily, I have been meaning to ask you both - Do you believe Heaven is a literal geographical place? In the Gospel of John (Chap.14) Jesus said I go to prepare a place for you. The Greek word is "topos" - which literally means a literal geograhical place (location). What do you both say? Thanks!
@CircleOfAtonement
@CircleOfAtonement 7 месяцев назад
We believe Heaven is literal but not geographical. It’s not a place in the physical universe. The physical universe is a place in the mind of those asleep in Heaven.

I hope you guys study other spiritual teachers. This book is just ones perception. I learn from many. Neville Goddard, Josephy Murphy, Florence Scoval Shinn, Bashar, Dolores Cannon. For instance Dolores is a huge believer in karma. Bashar is not. But we all can agree that life is about duality. You can only experience one side of something if you experience the other. Also, energy is very real. Bashar teaches you get back what you put out. That would be what we call karma. If you're very hateful to others, the law of energy will bring it back eventually. Just my thoughts..

How could there be reincarnation when the course teaches us that we are eternal spirit AND only the ego ( which is not real ) " could " reincarnate. Bodies come and go however God know not form. Reincarnation is a belief in form which again we are not.
