I looked and I don’t think anyone told you this but Hongjoong actually played a major part in writing, producing and composing all of the songs on their album :)

This debut is absolute FIRE!!!! Every song on the album is EPIC!!! Producer Eden said this song in particular was inspired by the Bollywood sound/beat. And Xikers are already performance BEASTS right out the gate!!! They have so much charisma and energy!!! I love that Xikers have their own concept and storyline, and the album ties in perfectly with it. It's very cohesive. I read that their name "Xikers" is a combo of "X", as in coordinates on a map and "Hikers" - as in travelers - & their storyline involves them traveling the world looking for coordinates (going on a wild journey). I also read that their concept is that they are GOBLINS (look at their "goblin" signature character wearing the ghost-looking white hoodie). The MV Korean title for Tricky House directly translates to 'Goblin House'. So unlike western 'ghosts/spirits' which are associated with the death of a human, in Korean lore they're nature-like spirits, and that's why you see the blue flames throughout the Tricky House MV, since goblins are associated with blue flames in Korean lore. Goblins (in Korean lore) can also transform into different things and take on different forms and so on" : Dokkaebi (Korean: 도깨비) are legendary creatures from Korean mythology and folklore. Dokkaebi, also known as "Korean goblins", are nature deities or spirits possessing extraordinary powers and abilities that are used to interact with humans, at times playing tricks on them and at times helping them. (From Wikipedia). I'm so excited for them! And so proud of Xikers, KQ, Eden/Edenary & Hongjoong! GO, XIKERS!!!!!

Hongjoong has credits on every song on their album so I expected it to be good but they're so talented it's truly a great debut! They're amazing performers and dancers as well and truly shine live - just like Ateez, they raised them well 🥰

Monster rookies. I would recommend checking out the whole album or their live stages of Tricky house and their b-side Xikey.

the name is X+Hikers - they are travellers searching for coordinates through time and space also the hangol is Dokkaebi which means Goblin, so its Goblin House & House of Goblins. However in Korean folklore they are actually mischievous sprites that like to play pranks and cause chaos and mayhem They are the floating globules you see in the video and its why they can manipulate the old guy like a puppet, and cause the subway car to magically expand, and cause the toys to become large etc. You can listen to and watch Geek, their pre-debut song, it has an MV Rockstar will be their other title track so look out for that within a couple of weeks i reckon Was hoping you'd get to this, great reaction

It will be even more shocking when you find out that they released this song before they debuted. I got a chance to see Xikers open for Ateez on tour last year before they debuted and they are so talented. They performed their predebut song Geek and Tricky House. I’m so happy Tricky House made it on the album because I love this song so much. Also, I highly recommend watching a live performance of this song because the choreography is hot. 😄

One of the best debuts ever! I've become quickly obsessed with them. They're insanely talented! I'm not sure if anyone informed you, but Hongjoong has both writing and producing credits on every song on their debut album! He's my ult bias and I'm so proud of him!

Korean goblins (dokkaebi) are nature spirits/gods that can inhabit objects and have special powers. They can be mischievous and can also be helpful. They're associated with blue flame (Wikipedia), so it may be that the blue flames around the man in some shots are the members in their natural form. My take: while it appears the goblins are being mischievous, I believe they're being mischievous in a helpful way. The man is working so late that no one is left on the subway by the time he leaves work. He looks stuck in the daily grind of life. I think exposing him to music, the arcade, dancing, and the carnival is their attempt to help him remember what it feels to enjoy life again. At the end of the bridge, they say "tell me what you want. Tell me what you need." and a car appears. I think they gave him what they sensed he wanted. The man smiles ear to ear as he drifts around the parking lot. Minjae's last words are "don't forget." This could have double meaning: 1) "Don't forget" it's our time now (we've debuted). 2) "Don't forget" to have fun and enjoy your life (within the context of the MV). I think they left because they had accomplished their mission. Apparently, goblins are known to inhabit household items like tools and brooms. I think the ten brooms at the end are proof he hadn't been dreaming. He had actually encountered 10 goblins. They may be using the term Tricky instead of goblin because international fans can have different ideas of what a goblin is (like Lord of the Rings). Tricky gives the general idea. EDIT: this theory is not originally mine it was from a different user but i think its a fantastic theory

They are monster rookies! Their whole concept is they are meant to be playful trickster goblins so the mv is very fitting!

Their whole mini album is fire! They will probably release a MV for Rockstar soon. Until then, I recommend Xikey live performance. Or the audios for the three B-sides (Doorbell Ringing, Xikey, Oh My Gosh)

Normally I can tell wether I'll like a song just by hearing the first 30 seconds of it and this song didn't disappoint as I fell in love with it straight away and I love the electric/EDM sound of it aswell. I also love the rapping and choreo too and its so catchy😊 Also my Xikers bias is Hunter

I really loved your reaction and how you gave importance to first hearing the song, and afterwards watching the music video. The song itself is quite catchy and the music video completely lifted it up to the next level. I'm sure many people were asking what in the world was going on in the video with that man. The song in Korean is called "The house of Dokkaebi (Goblin)". Goblins are legendary creatures from the Korean mythology and they are like spirits with extraordinary powers who have the ability to interact with humans. Sometimes, helping them or, in this case, they're playing tricks on the man as the name of the song already tells us, "Tricky house". So keeping in short, those small blue lights are the Xikers guys playing tricks on the man, who is basically going through a completely new and out of this world experience. At the end, when the man is lying on the ground he is surrounded by many brooms, which again, are the dokkaebis. A small random fact, dokkabies are not technically ghosts (they do not appear by the death of a human being), but more of a spiritual possession of inanimate objets, as in this case, brooms.

I hope that looking into their lore can help you decode their MV and their song a bit. Their concept is that they are goblins (korean-not western type) so they are tricksters (hence Tricky House) and if you look at what goblins do, like wanting to play with you and if you play with them nicely, then they will give you stuff like the money, the toys, the car etc that you see in the mv (very shortened version of what is happening) they are also nature spirits (so those blue floating lights).. then you'll appreciate this amazing and unbelievable debut song and mv even more. I love xikers and I've watched them for a while already and seeing them grow month by month has been so rewarding to finally get this epic debut! I love this song and never knew I would love the bollywood instrumental influence so much ❤ I'm so happy for another great reaction from you. Thank you!
