Hearing that this is the first Rondo ceiling you've done makes me feel a lot better. I moved down to Invercargill recently from Auckland, and most of my work experience was renovations, reclads or maintenance; which meant that younger guys I'm working with now had more experience than me... But if someone who's got maybe 7 years on me in the business is just doing his first one, then I'm probably not doing too badly.

@3g0r3 Год назад
Back-blocking with panel adhesive isn't the best way of doing it. Should be done with the joint in the middle of the ceiling battens with an offcut applied with some Cove adhesive, then bowed up 1-2mm to create a taper.

The sheet lifts are great, makes a horrible job easy. So many plasterers, here in Australia, don't use them. Instead they struggle with 3 - 4 plasterers on a long sheet. There's a way to use them for the top sheet, on a wall too.

Make sure you tell the gib stopper he will be back in 12 months to fix all those cracked joins in the ceiling gib. We install it as per the manufacturer specs. And it still cracks.... sometimes. Hate to think whats going to happen on those ceiling joins done with glue and ply. Should be done with cove bond, sheet off cuts for back blocks and with battens to hold them with a 2-3 mm deflection to take the plaster and tape.
