@Cyx can you explain your rotations on first point defense? To a naïve player like myself it seems like you’re just retreating and forfeiting high-ground/importance space for no real reason. What’s the rationale? What are the cues you’re reading?

I'm betting it won't be a total reset but soft in the sense that your first placement games will be against people of your last season range (e.g. if you were silver, you go against high bronze - low golds, etc.) BUT, this time, at every win or loss, you'd get the unrestricted boost as the account were new. So you win that first game? You get like +100 hidden-SR, not just the usual 25. Next game against players 1 tier above last season then. You win another game? You get like +200 hidden-SR from that and start getting placed in plat games, and so on. Basically you are risking/loosing a lot as in the usual U2GM games on fresh accounts. The only thing different is that your first games would start in your old-season MMR bracket. Not at mid-gold-plat for all, as fresh accounts do. So a player like Cyx will be facing GM1 games and will stay there, but old rarely played GM1 accounts (which can't stand the rate of wins to stay there) will decay with hundreds of SRs each loss until the tier they belong. tl;dr: play very carefully your first games of new season IMO
