The Base system comes with 2 weak and tiny BMW subwoofers, and 4 mid speakers, one in each door which are all powered by the head unit. Lacking a proper amp and tweeters, this system had to be upgraded with both a new BMW speaker set and an amplifier for a rich, mighty sound.

@@ystebadvonschlegel3295 If certain speakers were not installed in the car originally and you’d like to add them, it is necessary to add mounting brackets and grilles so that mounting the speakers is possible. Hi, if your sound system will require the stereo harness as the one in this video, you will need both PnP harnesses, one for the amp and the other for the MMI, it is harder to make them both fit behind the head unit, however, it is doable from our experience.
