What a Monday can be like - the day after Glastonbury Festival is over! I was lucky to come across Stephen and we took a walk around to see the lovely sights left behind by the festival goers- after a weekend of mostly rain and mud! The tents can't go to Calais to help refugees if they are muddy..it's up to the recycling teams to make something of them, and that takes more investment..
The big question has to be 'why are we in such a state that we feel the need to pay such a high price for a ticket to camp and see such top celebrity pop stars- whilst at the same time aim to get completely wasted or spoil ourselves, and trash the surroundings - because the entry ticket covers the cleaning-up process! What happened to the thought to be decent enough to leave rubbish in the bags provided? and perhaps- think about NOT walking on your own trash in your campsite- to save the litter pickers needing to use shovels to dig cans out of what was mud and may have turned to hard ground!
I'm sure people don't walk on their trash in their own homes or sleep with rubbish in their beds- however, at this festival it looks like anything goes!
