When I built the booms, I used a pair of channel lock pliers to squeeze the plates onto the beams. I wrapped the jaws of the pliers with duct tape so they wouldn’t damage the parts.
Same. Only used my thumbs to get them started. I also don't like that red pendant holding the derrick, so I took I apart picked up another motor and wheel hubs then used them to make a functional A frame.
This is advertised as the LR13000 but closer resembles the LR1300. That's not terrible as I would assume they are limited in stability and strength of the plastics. I may buy a second set and use the parts to reengineer and attempt to make it closer to the real thing.
Did you see the leaked pic of that one? (Lego Technic 42146) It looks so bad. I had been holding out for the actual Lego Technic model, but after seeing how bad it looks in the leaked pic, I'll almost definitely be buying this Mould King model at some point in the next week or two and skipping the Lego model. The only thing I don't like about the Mould King set, looking at videos, is all the movements look like they're too fast. I'd much prefer if everything was geared down to about half the speed.
Im considering buying this. is there any tips or other information you could give me on the set? it will take up half my room but its a space im willing to risk for a set this cool😂. But motor wise or building wise are there any tips for this set? And is this set worth the buy and to keep?
